If that isn't a penalty then half the challenges in every game, in every league, in every country week-in and week-out aren't fouls.

It's a staggeringly poor decision. Inept doesn't cover it.

And we won't hear another word about it because the half-wits they've got reffing these games aren't held accountable.

To echo something similar Conte said earlier this week - the refs should be interviewed and made to answer questions on their performance.

100 % this. Ex players (and current players) tend to be completely ignorant about the game. They add nothing to commentary.
Murray was very even handed today, unusual as an ex player commentating I accept. In fact it was so even handed it annoyed me

It was a blatant penalty. Everyone in the BT studio said the same apart from former ref Peter Walton. He said it was a foul but not a clear enough error for VAR to intervene. BS. He was screamed at for about 5 minutes . Referees are a strange breed. Will be interested to see what Dermot Gallagher has to say about it on Monday.

First of all: I think the ref was excellent tonight, best performer on the pitch. Should get mentioned.

That VAR call however... don't understand it. Clear penalty unless I'm missing something in the relation between playing the advantage and VAR calls.
Looked two scared to make a decision any decision. Vardy was fouling whenever he felt like it that was why Gross was going bat shit at him when he got subbed.

As soon as I saw Lee Mason on VAR I was concerned. He was removed from his position as an on field referee because he is incompetent so why put him on VAR?
It shows how useless a ref he is.
What chance is there of him getting it right when he was on the pitch and having one look at it when he still gets it wrong despite having the luxury of replays, slow-mo, and several camera angles on an incident

If that was Goofy Bruno Fernandes, 100% it would’ve been given.

‘Teams like Brighton’ require a player to scythed in half to get the decision.

Whatever he says, you can pretty much guarantee that it won't be, "That was a complete **** up - I don't know what game they were watching. Totally baffling decision".
He's an ex-referee, it just isn't in his nature.
