As it's not my money I'd say sign him as he would definitely strengthen our squad. However if it was my money I would say he is massively expensive and better value could be obtained from abroad by buying a pacier striker. Rhodes is more of a sure thing, but the value is elsewhere.
This is where I'm at. Because of his various career moves, he's now so overpriced that he's almost a specialist recruit - one to guarantee goals at an inflated price. With hindsight, Middlesbrough signed him at just the right time. He wasn't brilliant, but he scored a few and provided competition and back up at just the right time.

At this level Rhodes is an excellent striker. He's not the pacy no.10 we are looking for but he'd be an excellent addition to any championship squad that are willing to part with quite a bit of money.

How so? He was on the Boro bench and didn't make it off it. In fact he hasn't played a single minute for Boro yet this season.
