I'll say something I'd hate it if Albion were forced to make a rushed decision on ownership to save a European spot. Infact I rather we waived our chance than comprimise the club ownership in any way.

This is just crap management from CPFC2010. They know the rules, its not like it hasn't happened before. Better than clubs plan in advance

Exactly. This is humiliating for Palace. Truth is they never expected to get into Europe and simply didn't plan for it. Textor sounds like he couldn't give a crap one or the other, such is his frustration with the ownership situation at the club

I almost can't believe I'm typing this sentence but in fairness to the Holmesdale teenagers they have protested this in the past. They had a banner at a game a couple of seasons ago specifically saying they didn't trust Textor and multi club ownership having involvement in their club. While it would be hilarious on many levels if it did go pear shaped for them I'd feel a bit sorry for those who saw the risks of Textor's investment and were ignored.

Those banners only come out when they have one of their frequent bad runs and when they aren't doing well in the cup.

It's almost like their artwork has no tangible impact. Incredible, really.

Never, ever feel sorry or any kind of empathy for anyone who follows palace.
It’s a rule I live by, worked so far.

While this would be absolutely f**king hilarious if it comes to pass, I don't really want anyone claiming we got in through the backdoor, regardless of the truth of the matter.
It wouldn't be the backdoor. Everyone enters a competition based upon rules. If someone breaks the rules they have to face consequences. In no way would that be 'through the back door', it would be that palace are badly run and haven't taken necessary action to qualify. Why should others miss out if they act like that?

To get into a European competition legitimately and on merit you have to win a cup and/or finish high enough in the league AND met the eligibility criteria. Something palace very likely wont have done.
That doesn't answer the question. Palace didn't cheat to win the FA Cup, VAR messed up, that's not Palace's fault at all. If Palace don't get into Europe it's because of admin incompetence, and fair enough (and not a huge surprise).

I've only just worked out why it would be disqualification and we qualify, rather than Palace swapping with Forest. Lyon could still be relegated to the conference after the first round and Palace could get through the first round.
(In case anyone else is still confused)
