There was a survey somewhere last year, about how long you leave it in dictates how good tea is for you.

If i remember right I think that about 3 minutes was the optimum time. Under a minute, or over 4, and all health benefits were lost :moo:

Now drinking Sainsbury's fair-trade cheapy tea-bags. 27p for 80! A veritble bargain, and not a bad cup of tea too!

Well stap me. Here in the remotest landmass on the planet, a box of 80 PG Tip teabags costs $8.49 (so...what, 5 quid?). Just found 80 Tetley for $7.49. Even undrinkable Liptons is $5. How much are these in Brighton?

If NSC need s a good charitable cause next year, maybe a KLS Tea Care Package Fund is in order. I thank you in advance comrades.

As for methodologies, there is proven chemistry involved in the interaction of the volatile oils in tea and coffee (providing flavor) and the boiling water/milk debate.

FWIW, KLS Tea recipe: boiling water, 3 to 4 mins, quick squeeze, then milk. I prefer coffee with warm milk added first.

Put sugar and tea bag (preferably pg) in the mug.
Poor on water.
Wait for about a minute.
Add milk.
Squeeze tea bag several times.
Remove tea bag.
Stir, then tap the spoon against the side of the mug.
