From what I understand, the reason he hasn't signed is not because of the contract on offer, but because he thinks his first team chances will be limited. (I suppose if Marcus Painters ahead of him for left back he has a point)

Very strange for a 20 year old to think that if true. Dunno what team he thinks he will get more of a chance at, but if that is the case I'd expect him to sign for a 3rd or 4th tier side. I could understand that view at the end of a three year contract and he was 23, but at 20?? Come on, think about it mate.

Hall's not really a leftback though... the thing is that he possibly has the choice of going to a Premiership club and being nowhere near the first team, or staying here and still not being that close to the first team.

They have also just seemingly signed Butterfield of Barnsley.

BBC Sport - Barnsley midfielder Jacob Butterfield joins Norwich

Yep. I particularly like this quote:

"It seems ridiculous that they are going to try and get him for as little as they possibly can," Keith Hill told BBC Radio Sheffield. "The initial offer is an absolute joke. It's scandalous, disrespectful to Barnsley as well as the management teams and his team-mates."

Funny that. Because you wouldn't even think about making a bid of, say, 90 grand, for a play-off chasing team's captain, would you Keith? :wanker:

Doesn't sound as though he's told the club anything, which is pretty poor form really when there is a contract on the table for him.

Close to a signing? How many times have we heard this recently? Is this our "gem". And what happened to the other two signings that were suggested? I must learn not to be so impatient.

They appear to have disappeared.

Briefly:

Plans to get a new signing before the end of the first week of pre-season training. Confirms he is after a left back, midfielder, and striker. Claims players are being attracted to Brighton after being impressed with season ticket sales.

Poyet is in no rush over Vicente. Vicente's agent says the player is receiving no wages during his clients absence.

I wonder whether Grant Hall would have signed a new contract if we had done the sensible thing and offered him a new one before letting the old one run out? I can only assume that Gus doesn't rate him that much? All very odd as I thought he was a cracking prospect who we should have worked hard to keep. But just my opinion. Gus' view is what matters.

Clearly Gus does rate as he has offered him a 3 year deal. If he was unsure, he would have offered 1 year surely. We also have no idea what went on behind the scenes and if we tried to negotiate earlier so this is just a guess based on an anti Gus agenda, which you are not the only person to have on here.
