Not keeping Barnes and Murray together was clearly Poyets biggest mistake, as BOTH have proven at a higher level.
Still hindsight is a wonderful thing, as I'm sure the fans that turned on Murray at Brentford, prior to Poyets arrival will acknowledge.

His homesickness under Wilkins wasn't cobblers. His partner left him, taking his baby son with her, back to the north, as she couldn't settle down here. He also had to have a couple of hernia operations.
We are all presuming that if Poyet had kept him, he would have adapted to the Championship as well as he did with that lot up the road. It's all supposition.

He looked quality for us in League One, took a season to shine at Palace, got a bad injury and took a while to make his mark in the Premier League. I have no idea why you would question whether he could have performed for us at this level, weird.
Agree with the first bit as it's accurate, but while the second part is an assumption, it's quite a fair one given his success and also his form with us prior to departure.

How many goals has he scored in the premiership so far? Even wit you include the dubious OG ?

Murray has 5 starts and 16 sub appearances for 4 goals. (one goal every 5.25 appearances)
Barnes has 17 starts and 7 sub appearances for 5 goals. (one goal every 4.8 appearances)
Ulloa has 19 starts and 6 sub appearances for 7 goals. (one goal every 3.57 appearances)
So while the goal to game ratio for Ulloa and Barnes is better than Murray, they will have both spent a lot more time on the pitch than Glenn. I would think on mins played it would be a lot more even. Murray also missed almost all of his first Premier League season, and spent the first half of this season out on loan, the notion that he's been found out at this level is ridiculous.

He was magnificent today. If he'd been subbed off at 3-0 we'd have been even more comfortable and he'd have won MoM.

Look at Torres for an example, did really well at Liverpool but struggled at Chelsea. Did he turn into a bad player or did Liverpool suit him better and therefore he was able to deliver more. Maybe whilst at Palace he was the equivalent of Torres for Liverpool and had he stayed with us, he could have been like Torres at Chelsea for us. - Some players do well at one club and struggle at another for no obvious reason.
Besides, had he stayed and performed badly like he did in his first season in the Championship at Palace, how many would have turned on him and tried to force him out like they have done with so many of our players in the past.
You can't say for sure whether he would have had the same sort of impact and success had he stayed with us as he did with Palace as there are too many variables involved to ever be sure.
