Well I've watched a bit, they've gone for a more "traditional" American / Australian format.

Definitely more polished and rehearsed than GB News, although I've noticed a few technical issues.

Talk TV reminds me of the early days of Sky, whilst GB News is definitely BSB (British Satellite Broadcasting)

With this competition, I fully except GB News to move to internet only and probably close down in time.

Are you against freedom of speech?

Speaking for myself, I am not against freedom of speech, but I am against one person’s viewpoint being amplified over everybody else’s in multiple media outlets with the links between those outlets not being overtly publicised.

I have no issue with Murdoch (or anyone else) owning a single TV network, newspaper brand, radio network, and publisher, but feel they ought to be forced to operate under a single brand (rather like the BBC does) so their connection is obvious, and the ownership of multiple titles/networks in the same space should be prohibited. What I seek is a plurality of voices, not one voice masquerading as a plurality of voices.

I would also argue in favour of the concept of “maximum permissible market share” before a media organisation had to sell off part of its operation, or split into two or more smaller organisations, each with separate ownership. What we have at present feels like a cartel.

You bugger off for ages and come back as a Pound Shop Crodo? Poor effort.

Not at all. There are many people in this country that support Trump and many that support Johnson, although admittedly that is not the case on Left Wing Chat.

The fella who writes for the Sun, the Mail online, and has a television show, is basing said show on cancel culture, of which he has claimed to be a victim.

Hmmmmmmm

Let's not forget Sussex born Arsenal fan who was regularly mocked at the County Ground and hacker of dead girl's phones.

I suspect that stunting GB News is more the ambition here, than overthrowing the BBC. Not much else to say on this really.

Add the lies about the Viglen scandal to that list.

If you don't like it here, I'm sure you can find another British internet to downstream alternative opinions.

It's got nothing to do with you and they are not alternative opinions, just ones you and a few of the self-important posters on here dont like.Yet more passive aggressive intolerance from the lefties on here.

Just had a 5 second glance, it’s all about “Cancelling cancel culture”.

A cheap set up, it has the look of a parody mocking TV news. Unintentionally.

'look out EAST' - sounds like a threat to me

Will they be cancelling Woke, next?

Why don't the be more honest and open and call themselves 'Gammon TV'?

You do have to question quite why they would support Trump at this stage. A man who attempted a coup in the United States a little over a year ago and still refuses to accept the result of a free and fair election because he doesn't like the result.

I watched the excellent Gazza documentary on BBC recently and Morgan turned up on that with a quote along the lines of "people like to think the press build people up to knock them when really we build people up and they knock themselves down".

Made my skin crawl because whilst Gazza didn't help himself sometimes it didn't help that Morgan and his parasitic paper was there to suck the blood out of the pavement whenever the poor bloke fell.

Utter scumbag. A man with no moral compass whatsoever.

We all have different opinions. My wife's best mate and her husband were Corbyn supporters. We socialise with them all the time and love them as friends. We have differing political views and we can only vote for what we think is best for this country and the people in it, no need for hatred. HWT, whom I assume is the owner of this forum, used to thumbs up almost my every post. Since I voiced my support for Brexit, he/she has pretended to put me on ignore and yet constantly given me abuse. The ultimate keyboard warrior.

Yep, reminds me of the time Gaza was going sober and Piers's paper delivered a crate of beer on his doorstep to get the photo of him picking it up.

I don't actually like Holmes either, but his show isn't the only one.

Elementary my dear Westander.

Kate Hoey was on this morning, you must watch it.

How very odd, that you view me that way.:nono:

It’s a metaphor. It means I think you’re a moron.
