Forest in for Spanish Dave

Vicente was continually complaining about the weather but when it came to the end of his contract he was desperate to stay (as long as Gus went). They will generally go where the money is but Forest will have to be offering a much better deal for Spanish Dave to go as he is happy here.

But what are Forest's FFP figures like? Can they really afford to be splashing out?

I am struggling somewhat to work out how the best supported club in the division is losing out to teams that are seemingly generating less income.

The other point is that surely, we are likely to lose fans if we become less competitive and less enjoyable to watch. I think it would be a mistake for the club to assume that there are 23000 supporters who will buy a season ticket regardless.

I would think players out of contract are waiting to see who is the manager before committing themselves there is no rush for them well no rush yet

Not sure. If Forest have made him an offer then it's got certainty. He hangs around and either the new Manager doesn't want him (unlikely but possible) or the money isn't up to what he wants but now Forest have gone elsewhere, so his negotiating position is weakened.

My understanding of FFP is if you don't comply you'll get hit financially.
So if you can afford to take the hit, you can still 'buy the division'.
An idea made all the more attractive with £120m pot of gold at t'other end.

With that in mind, a quality passing, goal scoring, dead ball specialist, with Championship experience, who does nothing, would be an ideal, n'est-ce pas?

Forest's average match attendance for the 2012/2013 season was just over 23,000 , they are still considered to be a big club in this division.

There is nothing obvious regarding any departure by Spanish Dave on his Twitter account.

Today there is a picture of him on holiday in a kayak with a mate.

Suggest this rumour is well wide of the mark.

The rumour does have some substance as the Forest manager has said he was after Spanish Dave who is out of contract and the Hull player he has his eye on is a slightly more complicated deal to pull off.

Players will move on, new ones will come in to replace them. Spanish is under contract till the end of the month at least, so we will have the chance to persuade him to stay for a while yet, unless he signs a pre-contract agreement.

Forest might want Spanish Dave but his Twitter profile still says Football Player of Brighton & Hove Albion FC Brighton, with quite a few photos of his time here including his own Spanish Dave flag.
