Dhoni on nought and Cook elects to make a double change with Ali and Broad now on? England have them at a vulnerable position and elect not to ram home the advantage with Anderson. Puzzling

I have to say this is well played :clap2:

It should flatten out, and the green glaze will leave the wicket fairly quickly. It was a very wise decision to bowl first. Pitch is likely to be hard though, so some turn later. It's basically a good test match pitch.

Ah fair enough, lets hope so. Would be good to send the Indians home well beaten, again.

So far today this is probably the best day's cricket Cook has had for some time. He wins what should prove a vital toss, all of his main bowlers are in the wickets and even his Mooen Ali call has paid off. Is this the turning point for the captain?

No use shaking your head Binny - it's your lot that don't want reviews. Off you jolly well go

Agreed. I couldn't understand why he brought Ali on. Then it worked.

We need the umpires to keep up the good practice of making poor decisions against India in every match until they adopt DRS.

"That is extraordinary. It would appear someone in the crowd has tried to switch the ball with one that is newer. Imagine hatching that plan? "We'll take a ball with us, sit on the front row, then, when the ball comes over the rope, we'll throw a different one back." Why on Earth would you do that? Is this the same person who was popping champagne cork on to the outfield earlier today? Fools."

What is it with England inability to see off a tail? 145/7 at one point. 7th wicket stand approaching 100 now :nono:

Prediction for the day ahead:

India: 307 all out
England: 173 all out
India: 88/2

I will wait for end of play today and then predict. In Mound Stand tomorrow and the allotment runner bean and courgettes have been steamed and are now in the fridge with a cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic, black pepper dressing. The parma ham and brie is ready for the spelt bread sandwiches to be made in the morning . Prosecco is being chilled (would take Sussex champagne but going with a Cardiff fan and it's a waste). All to be washed down by pints of bitter. What was that about cricket?
