Blasphemy. It is inspiring.

I've edited this to include my email

It is different. Any old club can have a pop record with which to run onto the pitch.
It is ours and no-one elses.

People have it played at their weddings and funerals.
For exiles (which I was for 33 years) it makes the heartstrings tug.

Never never ditch Sussex by the Sea. It is inspiring, in fact it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up

as i don't live in Brighton anymore i have not come across this person...but what a complete idiot.

Sussex by the Sea is our song.

tell west ham fans that they should trot out to something more up to date than "I'm forever blowing bubbles" or Palarse fans should have a track by Coldplay instead of "Glad all over"

What a pr**k

:lolol: :lolol: trying to court controversy. Good old Naylor.

Had GOSBTS played at my wedding, and it sounded so good at Cardiff after we won, when watching it on DVD at my little pad in the jungle (thanks TGC).

Ditch it? you're having a laugh

Mike Bamber did ditch it for a while when we were in the old first division. We had some awful American style fanfare playing when the team ran out. Didn't last long though, as you would expect the fans only wanted one piece of music, GOSBTS!

UNINSPIRING! He's kidding, right? You've misquoted him, right?

I've just finished cleaning up coffee from my PC where I spluttered when I read the thread title!

NEVER ditch it; it's ours and no-one else's.

And if you want inspiration from it remember the play-off final.

whatever they play before the match doesn't stop us singing it. Its the singing of our anthem that means something not the record played before the match.

I would prefer something like the Fat Boy Slim track Push the Tempo if we were to change it

Haven't read his Argus piece ecause I refuse to buy it anymore. One of the reasons why is Naylor, the bloke is a tw*t (Adams had it right). He simply prints stuff like this to wind the fans up and shift a few extra copies of his sorry rag.

We've lost OUR ground, lost OUR badge now this idiot suggests we lose OUR anthem.

Feckin ridiculous suggestion. Want something more inspiring on a match day, stick a roof on the South Stand (I know, I know, it can't be done) and let us all sing our GOSBTS anthem together in full voice. It's not the song that's the problem.

Andy Naylor wrote in the Argus that we should ditch the 'uninspiring' Sussex by the Sea before matches and play something more 'rocky'.

At the bottom of the article, he invites fans to e-mail him with comments on the article.

Here's my comment:

"f*** off to Stoke you twat".

Dover - where's that thread we did for that patient of yours? You know, the one who was so sick he thought we should ditch GOSBTS? (I hope he's better now - in every respect).

Obviously he's playing devil's advocate here, so I'm not giving him the satisfaction of rising to the bait.

It is a ridiculous suggestion. And how many other teams sing their "running out" music 10 or 20 times a game? Perhaps that ought to be a condition. You can only run out to it if you're not embarrassed to sing it.

Not just a shit idea from mandy gaylord but a shit article as well. He makes an example of how inspiring Blowing Bubbles was at West Ham on Saturday - it hardly whipped the home support up into a frenzy did it?
