Why appeal a job you don't want? If he appeals it will be about clearing his name for future jobs (though that's probably to necessary, if lee Hughes, marlon king and that Plymouth keeper can get jobs, so can gus) and getting any pay he would be due if sacked without reason. But to appeal he'd have to go through the motion of acting like he wants it, much like the interim manager is about acting as if it is open for him.

Yes and the other thing as I understand it, is that he cannot manage anyone else whilst the appeal process is going on or proceedings re wrongful dismissal........

See Adkins and Phil Brown...

money mate - if he wins the appeal I would imagine club would have to pay his contract off.

Yes, that's my point. He is only saying he wants to come back so that he has a reason to appeal, and he's only appealing to get a pay out he feels he is entitled to.

So the club have taken a month to make a decision and then choose to communicate it at a time when Poyet has an immediate opportunity to colour the whole issue in his favour on live television. In the meantime the fans still don't know why he was suspended in the first place and the club cannot approach a new manager because Poyet wants to appeal.

Shambles.

If the club are unable to appoint a new manager because Poyet is appealing it will be a shambles and Poyet will take the club down with him.

Good luck with your appeal Gus. Gregory won his, Curbishley won his, both quickly disappeared from the top flight never to be seen again.

Take your medicine, try something different like shutting the fvkk up, play golf and wait for Pardew to be sacked. It shouldn't take too long, Newcastle could probably get you sans compo now we've axed you to, so more cash for you and your agent.

Oh well, thanks for the good times Gus - shame it had to end the way it did.

Being sacked live on TV was really the least he deserves after 2 disrespect to the fans, I'll be delighted to see the back of him.
