Best British actor?

I think Albert Finney and Anthony Hopkins are up there with the best. I find Finney a joy to watch in all I have seen him in. Daniel Day Lewis is up there, not someone I particularly enjoy watching but his talent is undeinable. Of more recent times I think Neil Maskell is on the up (Kill List, Utopia) and Eddie Marsen is always great. I's also put a vote in for Malcolm McDowell.

It takes a truly great actor to convincingly play an insane character, which he definitely does in Doctor Who.
Also great in Life on Mars.

It's very good. Series 3 out soon I think, but I reckon that will be overkill. Series 1 is excellent.

His mesmerising transformation from successful chip shop owner to luckless tramp was worthy of far greater acclaim, IMO.
