true say.

A bolwing attack of GBH, Flintoff, Anderson and Onions just LOOKS stronger. Broad needs some confidence back, he's lost all his FIRE.

Another day or two of rain wouldn't be bad. The pitch isn't going to produce a good game of cricket so let's just take the draw and run.

You have to admire the Aussies, they are apparently, without "aura" but despite losing quality players in all departments and seemingly carrying a bowler who can't spin a ball, another who can't bowl wicket to wicket and an opener who is meant to be very average middle order, they seem to have at least given themselves a chance.

This may well be a rain affected match but it does look like the Aussies have put themselves in a good position to exploit our very weak 3-4-5 when the time comes.

Strauss f***ed himself when he doubted the aussies in ANY way. I bet they loved that in the oz dressing room, loved it.

It is, and something Strauss should have known. The only thinkg England have going for them is the understated quality they have in terms of getting the job done this time round. getting the aussies backs up is only going to make them more determined to get into us and exploit our (numerous) weaknesses. Poor captaincy.

Got to agree with this.

On another note, is Broad's time running out? He just doesn't look right at the moment.

Why does everyone hate Broad? of the paceman who was the only one who threatened yesterday. He's the only bowler to have taken wickets in all 3 Aussie innings and a lot of the time suffers because Strauss gives him strange fields and tells him to bowl bouncers. His average for England for England in the last two years is better than Harmison's, and he's got a better average in County Cricket this year than Harmy

Nick Harrison on Shane Watson -

"Opening up with Shane Watson is like putting cucumber in your fruit salad," "Technically it is a fruit and therefore merits its place in there. But it still leaves a strange taste in your mouth." Except cucumber is mostly tasteless.

Sort of a agree with you.

Broad was brought in too early, but they were desperate to have a number 8 that could bat a bit, as they had with Giles. The problem was, his bowling was not up to it, when he came in.

Actually from the New Zealand tour, until the India tour, there was a real improvement in his bowling. His speed was up and he was bowling a good line and length and grinding wickets out.

Tufnell made an interesting point that the improvement got ruined on those disgraceful pitches in the Windies, where they were so flat, line and length bowling was not working, so he ended bowling in more one day mode, cutters ,slower balls etc.

The problem is he has not got back into line and length mode.
