A group of friends have set up a fundraiser “to give the displaced people stuck at Calais a break”. They will be raising money and delivering essential daily items on 10 October. You can donate money to them here
I am unable to house anyone because I have a tiny studio flat but I have worked with organisations supporting migrants over the last few years. It has been a rewarding experience and a cause I would recommend others to support.

It says Syrians, pastafarian. I think the campaign is related to David Cameron's pledge to bring 4000 Syrian refugees. If 4000 people (the site pledges have reached over 4000) are willing to house the refugees in their homes and mentor them that can be a positive outcome, in my opinion.
There are people who do want to help displaced Syrians.
