I have not read the books and I'm loving the series. A bunch of us watched the finale last night. I was hoping for maybe more action in the final episode, but it was a great first season overall.

Its not as simple to just give people wages equivalant to their wage worth + transfer savings. That leads to rampant wage inflation, especially as you improve and bring in better players who want to be paid for the level they are within the team.
