Thats nuts, not sure I'm quite ready for that level

The guy is awesome live. He played Brighton a month or so ago. Changing one of his strings whilst still playing the song. UNBELIEVABLE talent. Still, having Roy Harper as a dad i guess he was always gonna be a bit good. He truly is amazing live, he signed his DVD after the gig with a prefix of SEAGULLS, SEAGULLS! a real gent

Al Stewart's Year of the Cat but a couple of cricket finger injuries in my 20's led to me giving up playing - became very frustrating.

I learned the whole long version solo when I bought that record - including the sax part too.
Not sure I could run through it now though, but it is a great one to mess around with.

Having seen Tim Renwick play it live (as well as having seen him in Quiver, Sutherland Brothers, Al Stewart and Pink Floyd), all I can say is

Bloody hell NMH this is spooky.
I met Tim Renwick in 1972/3 when I was at university in Leicester. One of my jobs on the Ents Committee was to pay the bands and we'd booked Quiver or SB&Q (I can't remember now which incarnation) so that's how it all came about. I remember him mentioning working with or knowing Al Stewart when he saw some of our future events posters. A few beers maybe and I would probably have organised some food for the band but that was about it.
Anyway, Tim and I have crossed paths subsequently on several occasions, including having the same ex-girlfriend; most recently was at Live 8 in 2005 where he was playing bass during the Floyd's set. Didn't realise until then that he was at school with Roger Waters and Roger "Syd"; it's nearly 5 years since Barrett's death in a couple of weeks
Oh - he doesn't like Rod Stewart much.

I love playing made of stone, bye bye bad man and sugar spun sister by the stone roses.

Made of stone is my 6 year old's favourite (even with me playing it)
