The article may well have some credence but as soon as the author gave his opinion on the SPOTY winner i immediately assumed it was a load of old HOGWASH. :)

well this is a great way of instilling a little bit of pressure on Potter to get a few points from the next few games.

In my eyes its the same as my boss saying you have a job for the next few years no matter how sh*t you perform.

This experiment has been one long unsuccessful gamble.

Good. Unlikely we'll go down under his leadership, but if we do he's the man to take us back up.

Depends how we went down. If we went down with a whimper he would be out. Alongside this a lot depends on the alternative. If TB feels there is a better available manager for the project, GP will be on his way.

Overlooked Fury’s drugs suspension and homophobic and sexist comments as well. I admire his come back from mental health etc but he’s not been a brilliant role model in other areas of his life. I recall the author’s main gripe with Hamilton was that he wore a Hugo Boss shirt. This seemed odd at the time; maybe there were other issues that, for whatever reason, he wasn’t willing to express? Either way this was the only one given.

All things considered I think Hamilton is a worthy winner.

I'm not knowledgeable on such things, But when was the last time a premier league club didn't sack there manager after relegation, and who?.

Norwich. Currently riding high at the top of the PL. Not quite sure who else has done it in the interim, but Burnley did it for the 2015/16, and look where it got them.

Oh dont get me wrong i think Fury has been an awesome athlete and sportsman but Hamilton deserves the award but as soon as the author of that article gave his opinion it devalued the statement concerning his 'source' and replaced that with his opinion on the situation concerning Potters position at the club.

Is it Potters fault that we missed 2 open goals?

No not at all.
But perhaps we need some coaching to get players to move the ball forwards more quickly, get more people in the box (not in each other's way!) and have a shot which is on target.

Brilliant. Look forward to being third or fourth from bottom in two years' time.

Lol. So being promoted back to the Premier League means you're destined to be around the relegation places thereafter? The club needs to recruit quality players if it wants to achieve what Leicester (and perhaps Southampton or Villa this season) has achieved since returning to the prem.

You don't get far by sacking a manager because they haven't built Rome in the day. Just look at Watford. Thank God we have a chairman that understands this.

The obvious thing to say would be no. The problem is, this poor finishing has been going on since he arrived. Maupay, Connelly and Jahanbaksh are good enough to take those chances on Sunday but they’re low on confidence. It would be good if Potter did something to address this. I’m sure you say he’s obviously doing this behind the scenes but it would be good to hear him come out and really back his forwards rather than blandly saying they’re ‘helping the group’ etc. It’s a managers job to get the best out of his players and this poor finishing isn’t a new thing. It’s been going on for over a year. Judging by the players reactions when they miss sometimes, it’s almost seems accepted.

We are a change from most other clubs.

The thing I find astonishing (perhaps this is simply my naïvety) is the quite sensible longstanding posters on NSC, some of whom have been acquaintances of mine, pals even, for 20+ years, who don't seem to realise thsi, and apparently want Mr Bloom to be more like the Dildo Brothers, the madman at Watford, or even the parade of perma tanned tossers in charge at Palace, hiring and firing the likes of Pards, ambitious foreigners like Silva who are off at the first hint of a few wins and interest from a big club, and even ****ing Big Sam, each club with a series of players who mostly want to leave, with the odd sulky superstar like Zaha...I could go on.

No, we have an owner who has appointed a coach he sees as different, not on a lot of money it would appear, and on a long term contract to protect what Tony sees as an asset who will eventually shine. Relegation is certainly not part of the plan but it can be accomodated if necessary.

And people still don't get it. Deprived of the coke-like rush of winning division 3 (or even the fabled and much lamented Championship, with it's lack of VAR, unbelievably shit referees who rarely even appear to know what they're doing, and an all-conquering Leeds-like vanquishing of opponents under Crish Hughton's visionary and daring attacking football) they grump and winge about our failure to achieve what Tony 'promised' (i.e., top ten every season, and a trophy every other).

**** me. I mean, FFS. Seriously.

If you want a coke-like rush, take some coke and watch Liverpool, or Man U. You could put the TV up by a window and watch from your back garden, for that authentic out-doors feel.

Meanwhile I am proud of my club, recognise what the owner has done and trust his judgement.

Sorry for my withering vituperation. I appreciate we are all different and want different things, and I do hope you people who see things differently from me do get what you wish for which, I assume, is some wins soon. I think we can all agree on that.

Brilliant post.

I’ve been shocked at the number of good sensible posters losing their beans and turning to the ‘Potter Out’ camp. We’ve missed 20 big chances this season, no other team is anywhere near. This along with Potter finally getting the best out of March, ruthlessly solving the ‘Ryan lets every shot on target in’ dilemma, attracting the likes of Welbeck & Lallana, keeping hold of White, playing the best passing football I have ever seen at the club, playing Man Utd off the pitch etc etc.

We’ve come so far, it’s the height of entitlement not to back Tony Bloom’s plan. He has consistently prioritised ‘style of football’ in his Manager recruitment with the exception of Hughton where promotion was the key.

It’s almost upsetting that so many seemingly intelligent fans are so short term in their view because several of our players have lost any ability they ever had to put the ball in the back of the net. The goals will come because we are creating so many fantastic chances with our brilliant build up play.

His ignorance is astonishing. You’d think he’d accuse white drivers with billionaire or millionaire fathers like Stroll or Norris as having had ‘leg-ups’ but no, it was Lewis whose Dad worked multiple jobs, sometimes 7 days per week to fund his son’s karting career:

“The award however went to Lewis Hamilton, who has probably had the most ‘leg ups’ and preferential treatment in the history of his sport.”

However, the author at least has a sense of introspection that should be admired.

“Yes, I probably am a dinosaur.”

Let’s hope his hopeless and inaccurate articles share the same fate as the giant creatures that once ruled this planet 60 million years ago. The time has come to put the pen away.

We can't chat shout sing rant on the terraces, we can't chat rant and drink in the pub

NSC is as good as it gets . . . I post bollocks, get emotional and rant from time to time ( most of the time probably). But as soon as I step away from NSC life is perfectly normal, its just football and nothing within my control . . . But we have a bizarre emotional attachment.

Ah the old classic "the board back the manager to the hilt" statement a week before he is sacked. After Burnley won comfortably at home on Monday we are now only one place above the "zone". Lose the next match and we could be in there for the first time in the 4 years we've been in the PL. Then reality will sink in and the board position might change.

Think you have probably nailed it. Potter has advanced us so quickly that many get a bit twitchy when things go a bit wrong because the bar has been raised in terms of expectation

It’s good, but it’s no Megadrive vs SNES. There, I’ve said it.

Wink wink.
