What sort of idiot hasn't learnt from 50+ years of supporting the Albion, and would assume that just because we let Murray go, we would definitely be signing another striker, probably imminently

This is not sigh worthy news.

It means we are yet to sign a forward for our senior squad. I’m delighted with Ashworths u23 loan out strategy and more than happy for this to continue.

It’s sigh worthy to me as I liked the look of him! And if Connolly is good enough then so is this chap.

I don’t think we’ll be signing a senior striker and think we’re going to rehabilitate Andone.

I think the days of the big lump of a forward (at least for us) are over. We now play with three fast players up front. We have another clever forward on the bench, and another coming back later this year.

With three nippy players up front they can drop back and defend too.

I'm content.

Well said, totally agree.

I’m not bothered whether we sign anyone else at all now, we have a really talented, well balanced squad of players with great attitudes. No need to add anyone in my opinion.

So Maupay or Connolly get injured. What do you do?

You get fired if you’re the manager for not getting cover, that’s what. Which is why as you rightly point out we need another striker. Have done for several seasons. Can’t believe some people suddenly think we don’t.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Me too, but a nippy big lump would be lovely.

What's the boy Drogba up to these days.

Very good point. I don't know why we don't save money by just having eleven really good players instead of wasting it all on a whole squad.

What I mean is you can keep applying what if’s, but the chances of them both being injured at the same time are actually quite low. We play a fluid front line and if they were both injured we’ve got other players like Trossard, Mac Allister and Ali J who can come in and do a job up front anyway.

There’s no guarantee that if we do sign anyone that they would be an improvement on what we have already anyway.

We could this for all teams in the league. What happens if Salah and Mane are both injured, Aguero and Jesus, Kane and Son, Rashford and Martial, Werner and Abraham, Aubamayeng and Lacazette, Jiminez and Traore etc. None of them have comparable replacements so they’d all be weaker but the reality of losing both for a period of time is unlikely.

A) I did not say both
B) at least the clubs you mention have alternatives
