Agree, not talking about the price specifically but the player.

Of that list someone wrote, I’d chuck all of them in the bin but would have liked Watkins.

Batchuayi scored 2 for the Belgium national team the other night. He's a cracking player in the right squad. Would love him here, except our financial constraints mean we cannot compete with the wages Palace will offer.

I think is what you meant to write.

Right now I'd take a year of Troy Deeney.

We’ll be fine, they’ll have someone lined up. I hope it is Brewster personally.

I’d still much rather be where we are now though than have wasted £20 million on 3 goals in 29 games, nearly 29 and 2 ACL injuries Callum Wilson or spunked an absolute fortune on untried Watkins.

The longer this goes on the harder it gets, especially when all around are doing business and we seem to be unwilling/unable/uncompetitive - delete as appropriate.

Surely that’s not actually him? Seems like a Brighton fan kid - very weird bio though if it is a fake him?!

it is. why would anyone want to fake an account for a failed football league player from 20 years ago who only made 16 appearances.

Well neither - we've been willing/able/competitive enough to land Veltman and Lallana and in the last window Lamptey and we weren't the only clubs interested.
And as the season starts, in some ways, more players become available as it becomes clear they aren't necessarily part of a clubs first team squad/plans. And likewise signings over there frees up movement over here. And framing it like this implies that anyone who hasn;'t finished their business is also unwilling/unable/competitive - which is obviously not true. Apart from West Ham of course.

Wow.

What-A-Player!

Just what we need.

A left footed inch taller Murray clone but 10 years younger!

If this guy joins we are going places.

In addition, he clearly wants to play in the Premier League, not sure he’d enjoy keeping the Spurs bench warm though. It would be a tough choice between this fella and Maupay if we were playing with one up front.

I loves him.

Spurs have baulked at the asking price:

The time is now, Tony!

I am sorry, I must have missed all the proven strikers being signed by everyone....

Certainly a few of our competitors have signed strikers. Remains to be seen whether they deliver, but any signing we make will be a risk too. Do you not look at the media then?

I have seen a few signings in the media. Nothing of the ilk that people on here are DEMANDING we pull out of thin air though.

Well most wanted Watkins. I (almost exclusively) wanted C Wilson.

Did you?

A propos of nothing, I just watched the man we should 'not have let go', Glenn Murray, plod around like a sleeping policeman at Vicarage Road this evening. His departure appears to have actually strengthened our striker portfolio.

Still.

Anyway, Wilson. Hasn't he gone on to be Newcastle's latest expensive flop?

Brighton don't really play with that sort of striker anymore. Certainly not for that sort of money.

I have heard, also, that we do have a new front three man waiting in the wings. Ali something. Apparently he scored loads when he played in his favoured position for a Dutch side a while ago. Top scorer, he was. I can't wait!

Josh King for me. He has the presence, power and skill Maupay and Connelly don’t have. Please not Ali J up front.

Seeing everyone around us signing strikers is very frustrating.

Villa- Watkins and possibly King.

Palace- Batshuayi

Leeds- Rodrigo

Wilson- Newcastle

Burke and likely Brewster- Sheffield United

Now I know we haven't got the weakest squad however we've known for a good while now that a striker is a priority and letting Murray go out on loan makes it all feel a little more uneasy.

Sorry mate but that reads like you get all your footy info from the Mail online. Now B'muff are gone it is 'plucky' Brighton and 'favourites to go down'.

As for your Murray comment (at least you know the name of a Brighton player) did you see him tonight? He's nearly 37, too, so his future is 'probably' behind him. He was, what is technically known as . . . . shit.

Sometimes I dispair. Do you really think the club is owned and run by morons? You remind me of the old bat in George the Chemist, where I worked in Boundary Road, Portslade, in 1972 who, whenever it got a bit chilly, anounced 'we're going into another Ice Age!'. Christ.

Have a little faith in the club, FFS.

Sorry to flame you but I'm really looking forward to the new season, and seeing the squad step up a level, and all this bedwetting is grinding my gears. But you probably 'get' that.

Many have left the table and taken their small pile of chips but Tony is going to the end and is after one of the big prizes.

This is the Striker that floats my boat and probably get‘s Tony, Dan and Graham to half mast too:

“BBC Sport South American expert Tim Vickery told Sky Sports last January: “He is almost like something of a throwback to the great old tradition of the English No 9 when you would whistle down a mine shaft and up would step a strapping centre-forward.

“He is fearsomely strong. Opponents almost bounce off him, he is so physically strong. He is known as ‘The Bull’. You look at him and physically, he is a bull. He is a very, very strong, powerful centre-forward with plenty of technical gifts as well.”

We should do everything to get this Bull of a man.

Maximum effort please recruitment team!
