Can’t help but think you’re seriously undervaluing Ben for some reason.

His value has been inflated. It's a byproduct of the Leeds microcosm. Had they missed out on promotion, far less people would be believing the hype.

I'll temper expectations until he can measure up to the big boys. That is if he can get himself ahead of Dunk and Webster unless we are to accommodate a back 3.

Exactly that, he is still a promising youth player. Nothing more.

Take football and emotion out of the equation.

You don’t comprehend business.

I still don’t get it. Sorry. Why you’re so keen to let him go.

- His value is likely to increase in the coming seasons, at worst would likely remain the same. Accepting £20 odd million now would be a colossal mistake financially

- Selling to a potential relegation rival would equally be a mistake

- We know first hand that Webster has started to become a strong player for us after a wobbly start. Ben was even more impressive in the Championship then him.

- Do we need the money? That seems to be the crux of your argument. Well we have a huge squad. And there are numerous players we could sell before Ben White

- “we don’t need Ben White” wtf? Are we Man City? One of the hottest English properties going and we don’t need him. Sorry don’t get that either.

- “We can’t play him every week”, sure, but that’s the same for all our players bar maybe Dunk and Matty Ryan. Potter doesn’t have a “this is my best 11” mindset. This is part of being a stronger club.

The only scenario where it could be prudent to sell White now, would be if a Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool come in a ridiculous offer. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense for footballing or financial reasons.

Keeping Ben White would be a statement of ambition by the club. Bending over to the first half assed derisory offer would be the complete opposite.

Fancy that, a footballer’s value increasing after a highly impressive season, and not just any player, an Englishman who plays in perhaps the most important position in football.

I find the whole situation utterly bizarre to be quite honest. Almost everything you read from a Leeds fan’s point of view is unsubstantiated tripe, and it’s the same stuff over and over again. Almost to a man they believe that we’re shîtting ourselves because they’re back, they’ve invented a scenario that Tony Bloom is getting twitchy and we’ve run out money, they believe their squad to be far superior to ours yet they accrued 93 points, the same total we won promotion with and now have a much improved squad whereas there’s isn’t as strong as it was 3 weeks ago. I could go on and on listing all these weird scenarios they’ve dreamt up. I really believe that they are in for an incredible shock in 5 weeks time, they’ve got utterly carried away with themselves having spent a few years bullying Luton, Rotherham, Barnsley and Charlton, football has moved on a long way since they were last relevant in this country. The hierarchy has completely changed, everything has changed apart from their overwhelming arrogance and sense of entitlement. Nobody is scared of Leeds Utd, nobody has any reason to be, yes they have ambition but so did Villa, and they spent over £100m and only survived because someone forgot to press a button. They simply won’t have the pulling power that they believe they still have, money talks and all teams (not Palace) seem to have plenty to throw around, this is why they are getting so infuriated by us and insist on patronising us at every turn, they simply can’t understand why or how a #teamlikeBrighton can say no to the mighty Leeds Utd. Clearly they’re far more put out by us than we are of them, which is highly amusing.

I agree it Is utterly baffling that they think any other football fans gives a toss about them. The only reason they are getting mentions on hear is their weird sense of entitlement is off the scale. Leeds football club is a non entity to anyone apart from the media that is blowing smoke up their @rses at the moment because they have done something that a number of clubs have managed to do in last 16 year and get promoted to the top flight.

Most fans are like “Leeds”

.

And for footballing reasons:

- Potter
- Ashworth
- Klopp
- Lampard
- Bielsa
- Southgate

And by all reports pretty much a ton of Premier League scouts all seem to rate this “just a promising young player” very highly indeed.

When was the last time we had such interest in an u23 player, or even a call out by an England manager?

I would value their opinion over yours.

Football is business. Wouldn't be surprised if we cash in at the right price.

Ben should kick on but equally he could struggle to establish himself in the team and may not attract the same attention as in this window.

Except Brighton fans who seem a bit obsessed with Leeds at the moment.

So what is your actual point, let’s clarify that.

You would sell Ben White now to Leeds? For £25m?

You called out my valuation on the player, what's yours? I think many on here are building him up too much. Too speculative. He'll be on our bench a fair bit.

I'd rather we cash in, especially if he isn't willing to commit.

Wouldn't sell to Leeds at any price though, I share the club's position there.

I said that to BIGFATDAZ180 on Twitter yesterday, I refer you you to this undeniable evidence....

I imagine I can guess what this particular spanner is alluding to.

It’s widely reported that Ben White was oop Yorkshire way the other night, staying with his gf, for her Dad’s birthday celebrations. Now, her old man, amongst this entire shitfest, seems one of the prize twats. He’s die-hard Leeds, and has done his daughter’s partner no favours at all, by getting noisy on social media. I’m sure he’s excited by suddenly being the centre of attention, but it’s massively shitty, and I imagine White thinks he’s a prick.

No doubt, at the festivities, he’s embarrassed the young lad with a song, or a chant, or cajoled him into agreeing that ‘WALAW?’ White will have played along either out of embarrassment, or being a little tipsy, or because he didn’t want to sleep on the sofa.

Your fat twitter mate, there has been party to all that, is my guess

Well until we sign another player or palace do something comical the most fun to be had is watching the giddy kids of Leeds fantasize about signing one of our youth team. Beats covid, brexit, Zaha or, most recently, pretending to want to sign Benteke to see who bites.

Ok, so you would cash in for £25m but not to Leeds.

But what young English talent would you suggest we bring in who is as good as Ben White?

My take would be there is no pressing need to resolve this situation now. So I would see us wait until the end of next season then evaluate. His interest and valuation will either increase or stay the same.

I’m willing to bet this will be the clubs decision as well.

That’s another thing, obviously we have our fair share of dickheads online but on the whole they seem to be teenagers, whereas Leeds’ presence is old illiterate men, it’s all rather sad.

Exactly my thoughts. You go to your GFs Dads party and you are polite and play along with the banter. Up to this point I think Ben has handled himself very well. Very respectful of Leeds and of Brighton. Let's hope it stays that way and we can move on from the petty, childish taunting by Leeds fans as Ben becomes part of our squad.
