Pissing off Brighton fans with all that clueless and arrogant banter is really not so smart.

Bloom happens to be a fan as well as the Chairman, you have to assume that it’s now impossible for them to get White as well as a loan the season after next when theyll back in the Championship and desperate to tap into and benefit from our Centre Back Development Initiative once again.

Unless we sell White to Leeds I doubt he’ll be playing in the Championship again anytime soon

Sky Bet seem to have White at 'Evens' to go to the hugely colossal club that what is called the United of Leeds (Lord praise them and Forgive me for uttering their name, I am not worthy, etc..)

Very much in the bookies interests to spread as much rumour and BS as possible. After all they don't have many high street shops left

They may do, but you can't bet on no move / stays at Brighton so they probably would be favourites!

I wonder what his international odds are.

Nobody is to relegate anybody until I blow this whistle. And, let me make it clear, even if they do say 'United of Leeds'...

Bit off topic but this whole Ben White saga has made me feel like we've made some progress as a Premier League team.

If the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool (and even smaller clubs like Leeds) are generating clickbait story after clickbait story on unconfirmed transfer rumours, well...this is what Liverpool and top clubs go through every day of the week.

Bring it on I say. It's free marketing.

Thank you, exactly, what an exciting young team we’re building down here, under the radar in some ways:

- Lamptey
- Webster
- White
- Biss
- Connolly
- Alzate
- MacAllister
- Maupay

To add to the likes of Dunk, Burn, Trossard etc.

And yet there are some who are still mentally stuck in League One and couldn’t be happier to accept the first half decent bid. And when you ask them why, they don’t really have a good answer either.

“We need the money”. We’re a PL team for the past 4 years, not in the Championship? And there’s plenty of fringe players who can go first.

“We don’t need Ben White”. Eh? Still don’t get that one.

“OMG We should take the £30m windfall and re-invest!”
- and buy who? What young talent as good or better than Ben White could we get, who would want to join us?

Thank goodness we have a forward thinking owner and manager.

The players you list all have PL experience and are largely irrelevant in any comparison with Ben. They are at least a PL season ahead.

To try and make a valid comparison, despite being blinded by optimism or naivety, what fee would you deem acceptable for a championship CB to depart?

If we were offered the same fee would this then be acceptable for Clarke, who arguably has been a better defender in a side which has had to defend more in the same league?

At 23 years old, on paper and in reality there is very little to separate the two.

Yet too many here are believing the hype without any basis.

You'd take 30m for Clarke I'm sure.

Let's wait and see if they can do it before stroking ourselves and claiming 30m bids for championship CBs are derisory.

My son was driving past the house in Worthing this evening and says he saw Ben coming out of the house for an evening run.

Would we take 30m for Clarke, perhaps we might rate him as well in the same light as White, you don't know.

However top 6 sides have been monitoring White for a number of years, we know how what potential he has. The only mistake, if we can call that is that the decision to allow a classless club to take him on loan has ended up being played out in the media. The fact Leeds have been happy for the local poor rags to write pathetic crap on a hourly basis, without any true facts and indeed have fuelled the fervour is so disappointing.

Nobody outside the small Leeds bubble gives a shit what they write though. If you look at what proper sources have said it is simply along the lines of "Leeds are interested in signing White" -obviously. And "Brighton want to keep White for their 1st team next season" - obviously.
The rest is just noise in a bubble. I really do not get all the fuss? Can someone explain it?

A lot has been picked by national media though, Sky Talksport national papers have all run stories about the fans wishes.

It seems to have equally whipped some of our fans into a frenzy before he has even had a chance to prove himself against a decent side.

I agree to a degree, but there's a lot of fans who have followed his progress for a number of years, along with others. I suppose it's the desire to see talent we've developed. The Walton progression has been spoken about for years on here, I for one am a tad disappointed he hasn't really shone as predicted, perhaps he will now.

For years we looked on with envy when the likes of Southampton and even Palace appeared to have better prospects than us. Now we are beginning to see a few fruits hanging from the tree and have witnessed a manager prepared to play them. Now we have a highly regarded young player, wouldn't it be nice to see them for at least a season wearing the strips (PIN)

You clearly didn’t watch Leeds Vs Arsenal or the Newport Spurs game

He has mainly been a feature of our bench at preseason games I've been at last few seasons.

I'm looking forward to seeing the matured prospect try to break into the first team but there are some posters here way ahead of themselves.

Exactly that, he is still a promising youth player. Nothing more.

Think he's a bit more than that, 103 games in EFL 46 of which have been for the Champions of the Championship

I find the whole situation utterly bizarre to be quite honest. Almost everything you read from a Leeds fan’s point of view is unsubstantiated tripe, and it’s the same stuff over and over again. Almost to a man they believe that we’re shîtting ourselves because they’re back, they’ve invented a scenario that Tony Bloom is getting twitchy and we’ve run out money, they believe their squad to be far superior to ours yet they accrued 93 points, the same total we won promotion with and now have a much improved squad whereas there’s isn’t as strong as it was 3 weeks ago. I could go on and on listing all these weird scenarios they’ve dreamt up. I really believe that they are in for an incredible shock in 5 weeks time, they’ve got utterly carried away with themselves having spent a few years bullying Luton, Rotherham, Barnsley and Charlton, football has moved on a long way since they were last relevant in this country. The hierarchy has completely changed, everything has changed apart from their overwhelming arrogance and sense of entitlement. Nobody is scared of Leeds Utd, nobody has any reason to be, yes they have ambition but so did Villa, and they spent over £100m and only survived because someone forgot to press a button. They simply won’t have the pulling power that they believe they still have, money talks and all teams (not Palace) seem to have plenty to throw around, this is why they are getting so infuriated by us and insist on patronising us at every turn, they simply can’t understand why or how a #teamlikeBrighton can say no to the mighty Leeds Utd. Clearly they’re far more put out by us than we are of them, which is highly amusing.
