Not a fan, but evidently we can’t afford better. Will do well in Championship and protects our investment if relegated. Good strategic move.

I'm more of a "conservative" fan of DP. Is he worth keeping on - obviously. Is he the all-conquering epic towering midfield maestro so many on this thread seem have him down as ? Not for me. He can have some truly great flourishes, as any YT highlights video will show. He's got some nice tricks. But I've also seen him completely go missing many, many times, and when he actually draws his foot back to shoot, its probably worth heading off for a pint.

Pleased we've tied him down, as on his day he is quality. But I want to see more from him before I announce him "the best midfielder ever to play for BHA", as some people seem to have him pegged.

Decent news as protects investment .

Some going way way over the top though .

He can be top quality but interlaced with some real abject showings. Shooting is piss poor .

Still a fan but can see it for what it is

I think he has the most obvious on/off switch.

As the game opens up if he's switched on he is our best ever midfielder.
He crunches tackles covers every inch of the midfield and always has the ball.
I don't believe he (or anyone else) can play with that intensity for 90 mins.

Which is how we get the rather languid relaxed Davy predominantly at the start of matches and occasionally for the whole thing.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he follows that template for Watford, is on it for the full 90mins v palace but doesn't carry that intensity through the subsequent games.

He's either brilliant or anonymous, there's rarely very much inbetween, and for long spells last season, along with the rest of the team, he was utter shithouse. I think some of the comments on this thread are completely OTT to be honest. He's a very gifted technical midfielder - sometimes. And it still amazes me how someone of his ability still can't shoot for toffee.

He needs that yard of space.

The highlights reel shows how good he is at creating it for himself.
He gets more space as the game goes on.

The way the team were set up and played, he had absolutely no space last season.

Delighted that Davy has committed his future to the club. A midfield of Propper, Mooy and Mac Allister is a very exciting prospect. Hoping for a new powerhouse midfielder in the summer too.

And Alzate.

Add Molumby into that list to get a few games.

The central midfield seems very crowded now, although I don't really include the more attacking Mac Allister and Groß in that view.

Bissouma is the real disappointment for me. Unless there is an underlying temporary reason ( illness ? ) then I'd look to ship him out in the summer, and put the money towards another striker.

Very happy with this.

Most of the squad are now on contracts to 2022 or 2023.

The rest :

Summer 2020 : Schelotto, Kayal, Balogun.

Summer 2021 : Murray, Stephens, Izquierdo.
I forgot

Summer 2021 : Button, Steele

Shooting is shit and last season none of our flair players got the chance to show much flair as most games were the Alamo from kick off.

I am seeing a totally different player to you this season. He is hard to shake off the ball, he tackles much better and has time on the ball that others can’t find because of his ball control and awareness. Yes he’s made one massive absolute ricket, and the nails and cross came out on here big time because of that.

I see a player who makes things happen, can ping a ball cross field, can play a defence splitting pass (not his fault if the receiever then ****s up or the keeper pulls off a worldy), can turn on the ball, leave a player for dead and then surge forward. Kills a ball dead from quite firm passes.

Albion fans not convinced about him, are we getting a little entitled here? We are struggling Brighton who will do well to stay in this division every season until we spend mega money or the young players we have blossom. Propper can play a big part in that with his experience.

Me? Dead chuffed he’s signed on for longer, he will get even better
