Golden opportunity? What does that mean in actual , tangible terms?
Bored of explaining again and again, but briefly... having any future laws on our EU trading relationship determined by genuine consensus, not imposed by Qualified Majority Voting.

When will Corbyn etc realize that all the vast majority of voters want is this brought to an end. ASAP. The best thing that could happen is Berscow to leave his post today.

The only way this is "brought to an end ASAP" is by revoking Article 50. But you know this, and are just pretending you don't.

Maybe that's something we should and could have continued to fight for from inside the EU rather than leaving ourselves vulnerable.......

You've got to be pretty f**king stupid if you think passing this bill is 'bringing it to an end'.

It's an ideology. It's an ism. If you believe in it then passing this bill does bring it to an end. (Plus they've heard Tory MP's say so and back in the good old days that BG nostalgically harps for, he'd have doffed his cap at one of them.)

Then when it doesn't bring it to an end, there's plenty of people to blame - foreigners and Jeremy Corbyn being top of the list.

Shame it will still happen, eventually. Has only strengthened the resolve of supporters. It isn't going away.

Conversely the UK is now home to the largest pro-EU grassroots movement on the planet. Even if we leave it isn't "going away", it becomes about rejoining, and demographic shift indicates that will happen sooner rather than later (if we left tomorrow it might well have a majority now).

Fine. But the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. We leave as instructed, then move on.

Why are people complaining about the Speaker of the House of Commons? This is out democracy at work, isn't it what Leave 'voted for'?

Part #3,425 of Brexiteers being educated on how Parliamentary Sovereignty (the thing they were told 3 years ago they want more than anything in the world, remember) actually works.

But you acknowledge that demographic shifts show that we almost certainly would rejoin and then be very unlikely to leave again for a very long time, if ever.

So basically a massive waste of time and money just so you can say "I won". For about a year or so.

Well done - sensible, grown up politics.

I would venture that the recent childish behaviour of our MPs has somewhat detracted from the 'grown up politics' ideal.

You appear obsessed with winning/losing. It's about leaving the EU.

Please do, your input is always valued.

OK, I'll give it one go, can't see how you can possibly misunderstand this, but I'll keep it as basic as possible;

John Bercow - Became Speaker of the House on 22nd June 2009. Has been Speaker ever since.

So....22 June 2009-present - John Bercow is the Speaker of the House.

Speakers of the House in UK in that time - 1. John Bercow.

Before I get to part two regarding Brexit, it's probably best to confirm you've understood this.

I'll wait.

Even if the public no longer want us to do so?

In what sense can/will we 'move on' do you think?
If this is a matter of people's values and the kind of country we wish to live in, as I believe it is, then the idea that we will 'move on' frankly seems a bit glib.

It's not "about leaving the EU", unless you're obsessed with winning. It's about the best future course of action for this country.
