Timing to prevent further deception and foul play by Johnson.
Johnson really underestimated just hoe many people would be onto him when he became PM. It's been his downfall. Cowardly, self serving, adulterous, scumbag.

Nah, initially Corbyn said bring on the election ... then he said to wait till the legislation is passed ... it will be on Monday, now it's a different excuse. It's all about causing maximum political damage to the government meanwhile we have no functioning government and desperately need an election to hopefully break the paralysis. Politicians who claim to be acting for the good of the country while running away from a mandate for their actions are definitely cowardly self-serving scumbags.

Well if Johnson has really got a workable plan to present tothe EU, like he's been saying all along, then none of this matters.

Until then everything is on hold.

Corbyn, pathetic and bootless as his opposition to No Deal has been since 2016, is doing exactly the right thing for the UK. He has finally realised that what the people were looking for is a strong voice and they will support him when he speaks out. Corbyn and the rebel MP's are protecting democracy.
Your mob don't like it because your idea of democracy was "whatever gets us what we want". Your mob don't like it because your run of undemocratic lunacy has been stopped in it's tracks. Hard cheese.

They won't.

What makes you so sure ? Apparently Macron didn't want to grant the extension to 31st October but was talked round by Merkel. One of the rules of the extension is that there has to be a good chance of progress being made during it. Given zero progress has been made in the last extension or the one before that, why would people like Macron decide to extend yet again ?

The view the Eurocrats might take is that this takes us closer to not going so they can, erm, make the most of our weakness and bend us over even more.

Initially Boris said no election, If Boris was acting for the good of the country he would be in meetings with the EU to get it sorted.

So much for his "Tiger in the tank" he was so keen to mention.

But it does matter. Thanks to the actions of the rebel/remain alliance the EU knows no deal is off the table and the Uk government is no longer in full control of the negotiations so they can simply say no to whatever the UK proposes insisting we must take the deal already rejected by the government and overwhelmingly by the House of Commons.

Well done them ...

Hilarious that Conservatives strategy has now fallen apart to the extent that they are literally doing the social media equivalent of;

"LOOK OVER THERE" *runs away*

Can we have some grown ups in charge of the country again please? How I long for the grey, boring days of John Major.

Imagine if KFC sue the Conservative party for breach of copyright logo.

No negotiations were happening. Jesus wept. You are paranoid that the EU is out to get us. It's really, really not.

I hope they feel proud of themselves. As you say, negotiations are now impossible.

The EU don't care about no deal. It doesn't affect them, so it isn't a tool on the table.

Incidentally, it has been verified by several others, that there are no negotiations going on.

So #takingbackcontrol is now reduced to desperately hoping the President of France decides The UK's destiny is a no deal Brexit so he can have us totally on our knees. C'est fantastique!

Exactly. What this will now force the UK to do is start taking negotiations seriously and stop the "F you, we'll just leave then" attitude Boris had. The EU will be much more open to a reasonable deal now they know the playground tantrums have to stop.

Is that the same Corbyn who has been calling for a General election virtually every day since the last election and frequently argued every day the Tories are in power the poorest and most vulnerable suffer ... the one who refuses to have an election?

Come now , JC, I thought you were one of the more intelligent of the Brexit brotherhood.

Obviously Johnson is not to be trusted, so, the rest of the parties in Parliament are not going to give him the opportunity to practice any kind of election date chicanery. Once theNo deal exit from the EU is permanently scuppered, then Labour, SNP, Libs, Greens, old Uncle Tom Cobbly and all, will tear your hand off for a GE.
But, you probably knew this.

Sigh ….. I know you want to turn any post from a leave supporter into some desperate hope of leaving but I was pointing out what, apparently, happened last time we asked for an extension. The EU will only have so much patience ….. especially if TB's claim that no deal won't affect them is true !

If this was true, then the Brexit Brotherhood would get what they wanted, they get to blame the EU and remainer MPs for their own incompetence, and their not too bright followers will believe them.
