Gods country fortnightly
England probably has the least problem with racism of any footballing country, yet there seems to be a complete obsession with it. I wonder what Talkshite will be talking about for the rest of the day? If I were Woy, take a holiday son, it will all have died down in about a week

Dan Walker has tweeted

@mrdanwalker: Now this will annoy a lot of you but... it has become clear that there is more to this Hodgson story than meets the eye.

Then

@mrdanwalker: I am unable to relay the whole story but the 'truth', although not damning, is apparently different to what we are being told.

He needs to put up or shut up. Journalists doing things like this on Twitter are ffing idiots, if you have a story publish it. They are using their reputation as journalist to pass on gossip/slurs that they wouldn't be allowed to put in a paper or website

Because he was trying to point out that the guys quote was not completely anti-hodgson in the way that he stated that he didn't think it was a F-slip in any way. That was the balance part.
my point is that piara power's statement lacks any credibility whatsoever , it shouldnt have been 'anti-hodgson' in any way , shape or form, and it wouldn't have been had piara power been a sensible person rather than a professional race agitator, so adding that people should quote part of his statement for 'balance' gives them undeserved credibility, especially for swomeone who called an asian fan 'coconut ' on twitter.

Wonder if the England kit-man now has to refer to "we're wearing the non-RED kit for this fixture"? Clearly racist otherwise.

But that's not what you said in any way. You quoted Hamilton and said this

"oh leave off ,are you giving any credence whatsoever that it could have been a freudian slip ? balance my left bollok, its because of people like you that give these twots houseroom that we're at the stage where an innocent analogy , i.e your job is to pass to townsend, 'offends' a footballer who has been brought up in a culture that actively looks for things to be offended at."

So I informed you that he was not suggesting that.

Woy's just released a message to the England fans:

"I would never dream of making monkey references. At half time I was too busy with Smalling to put anybody down. Look, I was just trying to be friendly. Support the team, come and watch us sing and play. We're a new generation and we've definitely got something to say at the next World Cup."

of course be was suggesting that , by indicating that it should be regarded as balance , you're wrong

What a load of bollocks.

The massive irony is that the very papers that scream 'racist' at every opportunity are racist to the core, and must love stirring up this sort of sh*t.

The FA has released a statement from its Chairman Greg Dyke

FA Chairman Greg Dyke said: “Roy Hodgson is a man of the highest integrity, an honourable man who is doing a great job with the England team. He has and deserves the full support of The Football Association.

“He has fully explained to us what he said and the point he was making to the players in the dressing room at half-time on Tuesday night. He has also explained the context in which he made his remarks.

“He has made clear there was no intent to say anything inappropriate, and he was certainly not making any comments with any racist connotation. Importantly, he has apologised for any unintended offence that may have been taken.

“Roy has spoken with Andros Townsend and a number of the players since the game and he has been assured there are no problems within the squad whatsoever.

“Additionally The FA has not had a complaint from any squad member or player representative, and we have today talked extensively to the squad. The FA has been assured by the players that there are no problems and they understand the point Roy was making and the context in which he was speaking.

“We will be making no further comment on this story and will now be giving Roy and the team our full support as we prepare for the World Cup in Brazil."

Decent statement from Greg Dyke, he seems like an ideal person to have in charge in a situation like this, with his media experience. Surely that's removed any further fuel the tabloid press can use to keep this going, although I wouldn't put anything past them.
