Usually I would argue on the side of anonymity, assuming the person is convicted and named there is still a chance for other victims to come forward, it would just be at a later date in the process.

But think of other victims if the person wasn't convicted...

I think I have had a rethink about the time limit and retract that part. I was wrong I think. Re the anonminity of both parties I strongly believe that. Its a debate and people hold differing views but just because they do, it does not make them a cheerleader for rapists and paedophiles.

Some shameful comments on this thread from fellow Brighton fans, worse still is I assumed they would have the life experience to know better.

Completely agree. It's this complacent, old-school, patronising attitude that has helped keep so many suffering from the affects of abuse for decades after the event.

These confused old buggers are still living in the past, condoning assault because either memories may fade or witnesses may be difficult to obtain is morally indefensible (as is, come to that, judging innocence or guilt on "gut reaction").

Clearly if you have a differing opinion you are labelled a paedo and rape fan living in the past and cheering on the abusers so I will leave this " debate " to all the people who can all agree with each other. My point being people do take a viewpoint rightly or wrongly, even the holier than though moral crusaders on here. The time limit is something I have changed my mind on and other points not really. The big lesson which I thought I had learned was to never get into a debate on NSC again as it will only ever end in tears, my bad. Have a good day.

Uncle. I have no idea what this has to do with my post. I was simply making the point that to make judgements on a person's appearance and demeanour when that person is a professional, trained actor is naive.

I can only speak from personal experience but I have never ended up in tears from a debate on NSC.
