I don't know the answer to that but I sure that Gus dosen't know the price of milk or bread. Had anyone really heard of half the players that Gus has signed before they came to the club. It's the managements job to have a team in place to find players and bring them in and in this case they have clearly failed.

Do you actually understand why this loan striker was such a difficult signing to make? Or are you just spouting the usual "Why haven't we got a striker in" crap?

You fully deserve to get bashed because its a completely idiotic thing to say. Do you really think the management have just been sitting around not bothering to try and get anyone in? How many top level Championship strikers have gone out on loan that we have missed out on? If you were a Premier League striker on the fringes of the first team, would you go on loan to a team in 7th place in the Championship to play second fiddle to Ulloa? This loan striker is the most difficult signing we've tried to make all season, there are very, very few players / clubs that the deal would suit. Or would you disagree with that?
Yes I would disagree with that, I'm sure that the management have made an effort but we are not just a club in 7th place we are a club on the verge of something big, maybe your glass is half full but mine is half empty. FFS Palace have got ANOTHER striker in and yet we have ONE to me that is IDIOTIC.

Some people genuinely do. But those people don't usually choose to post the information on here. Or not to the masses, anyway.

Yeah I know, I have a 'source' who occasionally tells me snippets but very, very few people will know all of our targets. Yet some will still try and claim that they do.

I am still hopeing that Poyet has not been so stupid as no not get anyone. If he has left us with just Ulloa, already feeling the strain from playing "too much football" then he could just as well have ****ed off to Reading for all the difference it will make to our promotion chances.

Yes, I fully understand, but you understand the potential financial short full in missing out on the Paly Off's. The Albion are no longer a tin pot club scratching round for Barn Door Billy we have got some clout now and should be attracting players either long or short term.

So how long before the budget line is rolled out ?

As things stand we go into the run in with 1 striker. Almost comical really.

You just know Ulloa will take a knock soon , know it

It's got nothing to do with attracting players, it's convincing clubs they don't need the players. The problem with championship teams is its so close, teams are either fighting for playoffs or fighting relegation, and with premier league players they are either at teams fighting relegation or are at mid table and don't want to drop down a division

So actually, no you don't understand then. Please explain to me why, if you were a Premier League Manager, you would let a good striker go out on loan to a Championship club who couldn't even guarantee him games, and where most likely he'd be getting ten minutes here and fifteen minutes there.

There is so much stupidity on this thread, does anyone actually THINK THINGS THROUGH before posting? It just goes back to my constant gripe about football fans- the vast majority of them are stupid. As proved time and time again.

Ok, look at Upson and player coming out of contract at Stoke and they wanted to put him in the shop window so loaned him out, good business by a Premier club and by the Albion. There must be players in similar situations. There you are I thought that through and come up with a reasonable reply, nothing stupid. Just because some views are different to yours it doesn't mean that they are wrong. With a few minutes to go we have f*cked up, simple.

If stupid people were debarred from posting (and I'm not sure how you'd set the qualifying criteria), NSC would arguably be a much duller site. A little more tolerance from some contributors might be helpful. Not everyone has the intellectual capacity of an archbishop.

Is anyone really surprised that after all the talk from the club and press, we've actually got no-one. It's not the first time and probably won't be the last! But sadly, it means that we're faced with having to rely on a striker who wasn't good enough for Barnet and another who's not featured all season, to come off the bench or replace Ulloa if he gets injured.

I think people under estimate how officially it is to sign a player on loan without promising him first time action which we can't.

Come to Brighton and sit on our bench is not easy to sell to anyone who is half good or better.
