Maybe one line is sufficient instead of the half page stuff....o and welcome back Miss Burns
And there ladies and gentlemen is one of NSCs worst, posting at his best. Seriosuly, it doesn't get any better from this one.

No point getting into a conversation with this one, as when you try and discuss something with him and push him on a point, he puts his tail between his legs and runs like a good Palace fan.

Is going to cost us dear... (Yes, I've taken a snippet of this from another thread)

All this left winger must defend bollocks is a complete myth, 1) the person who does it isn't actually that good at it anyway and 2) It's sacrificing an attacking position, pretty much signalling the intent we don't want to attack much and we're happy to invite teams onto us.

For me this is one of the main reasons things go wrong, we're not that bad, we don't need to set up as defensive as we do, we have a back four and three in central misfield as it is, is that not enough? Good grief, we're not going to win many matches against top half teams without actually attacking.

We have capable attacking players although for some reason they don't get a run after one below par performance whilst others that continually perform averagely keep getting picked time and time again, take Tuesday night for instance, more attacking/less defensive set up, win 2-0, alright it wasn't impressive but we beat a team who won on the road at a top team just days before, then what happens Saturday? Back to normal.

I eagerly await the piss off replies but that's how I see it right now.

I think perhaps its more Gus' general stubborness that is the problem, rather than anything specifically to do with Barnes.

Overall, I think Gus is a very good manager, but if he wants to be a great one he needs to stop digging his heels in like a spoilt child. The fact is that any Brighton fan with a brain could see straight away that the Crofts/Hammond/Bridcutt combination was a disaster, yet it took Gus about 5-6 games until he ditched this bizarre idea. Likewise with Barnes, he persisted with him way past the point at which he should have done, at the expense of two excellent frontmen in Hoskins and Dobbie.

If Gus wants to manage at the top level, he needs to adapt a lot better and a lot QUICKER. If someone is playing badly, Jose Mourinho subs them at HALF TIME. Gus gives his favourites a long run in the team before he finally caves in.

Caves in to what?

Fan pressure on team selection?

Yes you do. You rarely have a view of your own. One line disagreements is about the height of your posting powers.???:ffsparr::moo:

I might be being a little naive here, but I think that post was more of a joke than a denial. One of those "you don't listen!/Sorry, what did you say?" kind of jokes "you always just contradict people/no I don't!".

Barnes has always been the talisman for the manager, whether its getting him out of jail in a match or by kickstarting/saving CMS career by playing multiple in-offs off CMS body parts. Unfortunately he's ridiculously bolshie and picks up stupid numbers of yellows for little reason. Most effective we've got for now. But nowhere near good enough to progress to the next level. Still punching far more above his weight than anybody else up front. IMHO, like.

The sooner Bozza sets up a play area for posters like you, who can never ever make a post without trying to cause an argument and stops you posting in the main forum the better. Have you ever got into a conversation on this forum. Or are your 5000 posts all the same, one line drivel, because I've never seen anything different from you.
