I think Pond are playing at The Dome. Does anyone know if this means you have to get one of those extra wristband things? Or is that just for the Big Three acts?

Pond are supporting Maximo Park (second support slot I think) which is a top-up one.

Moonraker - please do eet. I and quite a few people I know have booked four days off and are looking for somewhere to carry on drinking on the Thursday night.

I think this year the line up is one of the strongest and some of the better known bands seem to be playing during the day which is a plus. I have been listening to The Killgirls on mysapce. I know little of their stuff but hope to see them.

Totally with you on this as well.

Going to try and phrase this without sounding a twat, but can some of you recommend a few bands that, erm...er, right I'm just gunna have to sound like a twat, have an indie/rock sound to them?

I know the whole point of the festival is to roam around and explore the bands on offer but a wee bit of guidance would be much appreciated.

As an aside I saw All The Young at the Green Door Store a couple of weeks ago and was suitably impressed by them. Their sound is probably a bit too close to a lot of what was mainstream from a few years back up to now, so might struggle to break through, but nonetheless an enjoyable band. Think they're back in Brighton again soon. *attempt to sound like has some modicum of lesser-known artists*

The NME stage typically has indie. I think it will be in Horatios at the end of the pier again this year. But don't spend all day there, there's tons of other great stuff on. The programme states the genre of each band along with a brief description so check this as well. You might not get in to all your first choices so have a back up plan.

Thanks - just being a bit lazy at the moment.

First I've heard of them to be honest. I'll check them out though.

They're from Stoke so not surprising, I got tipped them by a mate. Port Vale fans, some bloke at the gig had the most fantastic retro Vale shirt on.

With a week to go I thought it would be interesting to know what other festival goers have planned for the first evening.

Unfortunately I have work on the Thursday so wont be able to see much before 7. I hope to start the evening off with some Abi Wade at the Unitarain Church and then Tripple Nipples at The Warren. This is purely based on the fact they have a rubbish name and perform topless- apparently! I know nothing else about them. Then I will move onto The Pavillion and hope to see Willy Mason, Toy and Django Django. May try to get into Pond at Dome but this may prove difficult.

Not worked out a plan for Friday or Saturday yet.

My Thursday definites are currently Porcelain Raft, Francois and the Atlas Mountains, I have a clash with Friends and New Build and think Friends will win out, Niki and the Dove, Django Django. I'll certainly see some other stuff, I want to check out the Blind Tiger venue so I'll drop by there at some point and see what is going on.

Friends are playing again on Friday but they clash with Grimes who I really want to see.

f*** me, The Longcut? Completely forgot they existed.

Abi Wade is brilliant, she should be on your lists. Also Gentleman Starkey are playing a couple of times and worth a look.
