Either he gets fit and plays as well as we know he can, or England don't come anywhere near close to challenging for the trophy.

FACT.

Agreed. I thought Fabio made a very courageous (but correct) decision to sub him today. If they'd equalised you could just see tomorrow's headlines blaming him. A bit like when Taylor took Lineker off in Sweden.

Agreed, although to me he doesn't look 100%. Where's the pace? The body language is also a bit negative too. This is why I desperately wanted to win the group and get an easier route. Rooney's at least 2 games away from being his normal self and now we haven't got 2 games he can be 80% in like he was in this one.

Agreed! It does annoy me how (particularly in the Algeria game) if he is clearly having a bad game we will not sub him just because he is this apparent matchwinner for us? In the Algy game Heskey played out of skin getting the ball down and feeding lampard/barry or lennon and yet he is the one taken off when we dont seem like we have anything going forward.............plus he looks more and more arrogant everytime I see him play

Rant over.

On being subbed and walking off it would have been nice to see him applaud the fans who had been singing his name all match, those same fans he'd slagged off in the last match.

Did anyone else think it looked like Rooney was very reluctant to pass to anyone except Gerrard?

There is definitely something wrong with him physically or mentally. He shouldn't automatically play just because he is Wayne Rooney. Start with Crouch & Defoe next game, put Rooney on the bench. I still rate him, but Capello has to have the balls to drop him. At least they know how to play together.

What the hell did he bring Heskey on for tonight? That bloke should never pull on another England shirt.

There's shed loads of Glandular Fever about at the moment and it looks to me like the bloke's got some sort of ailment other than his ankle. Looks like he's drugged or, at the very best, can get himself up for one burst and then is completekly f***ed for 10 minutes. Give him a blood test.
