Just needs a goal, think he has put himself under immense pressure and its having an effect of his game. Once a goal comes will see the old Rooney back

There is definitely something wrong with him physically or mentally. He shouldn't automatically play just because he is Wayne Rooney. Start with Crouch & Defoe next game, put Rooney on the bench. I still rate him, but Capello has to have the balls to drop him. At least they know how to play together.

What the hell did he bring Heskey on for tonight? That bloke should never pull on another England shirt.

Rooney may not be firing on all cylinders but he played a darn site better than cole. Infact we lost our edge when he went off, give the guy a break for fucksake

As long as he is fit, Rooney was born for games that England will have on Sunday!

He will come alive in that game.....and that is a promise!!

Not ideal - to still be searching for a goal for that "confidence boost" when we've just played USA, Slovenia and Algeria.

Again, going back to '82, Italy and Rossi did f*** all until Brazil showed up in the knockout stage, then the rest is history.

To be fair to Cole- playing him up front with Defoe and then Upson, Terry and James hoofing the ball in their direction was never going to work. Cole should have moved to the left, Gerrard to the right and then Crouch on for Milner who was clearly knackered by that point.

or him just being pissed off that he isnt playing up front on his own, with Gerrard playing off his shoulder?

Yeah, because that was what stopped him scoring so freely in the qualifying round...

We tried that formation against the french and lost 1-0. The formation was such a disaster, with Gerrard and rooney unable to connect that we abandoned it at half time. Two years ago. It doesn't work and people need to stop harping on about it.

Subbing Rooney as he is having a bad game is absolute madness in my eyes.

You just dont remove your best player because he is having a bad game, can you imagine Messi, Kaka, Ronaldo etc being subbed etc because they are having a bad trot.

It wont happen and shouldnt unless they are injured. you dont take of your best players, not if you want to win anyway.

RIDICULOUS.

Rooney has been playing BOBBINS in this tournament. Maybe if he realises he is not so indispensable then he might stop playing like such a bombaclart.

And if you get to a point in the match where scoring isn't your primary aim do you leave on someone who is putting so much pressure on himself everytime he gets the ball he either loses it to an opponent or shoots wide, or do you take him off bring on a midfielder, and sure up the defensive side of your game because your're winning and don't need another goal. Especially when that frustrated striker has a history of losing his temper and acting rashly?

Id rather a bobbins Rooney than a firing on all cyclinders Heskey or Crouch any day of the week.

It amazes me how in 2 games Rooney has gone from one of the 3 best players in the world to...lets drop him for Heskey in as many words.

Madness....think about it seriously. !

If Rooney is adding nothing to the team why keep him on?

In my view its a major failing of our national team that we never drop/sub our star players if they are playing badly.

Rubbish, what a load of rubbish. I gave you more credit than to come out with that CLAPTRAP.

I can't even look at you right now.
