Doesn’t Musk still hold Ukraine to ransome over his provision of Starlink?

I recall him saying back in March that ‘the entire front line would collapse if I turned it off’.

A drug-fuelled Musk going postal over the Trump administration and a sociopathic Trump threatening to bring down Tesla, could make it very difficult to ensure Ukraine continues to get satellite communications from the US/Musk.

The sooner the EU gets something else in place the better.

Agreed Europe should get it's own solution in place asap.
Meanwhile, IIUC, Poland pays for Starlink for Ukraine so Starlink may still want that revenue coming in.
Re Tesla, Musk seems to be doing a great job of bringing it down himself. Has the board sacked him yet?
Perhaps Musk has more leverage with the US govt with Space X

We need the US senate now to pass this sanctions bill. The hugely punitive secondary sanctions on countries that provide to or buy from Russia, is the crucial part.

These sapper style missions, as you put them, are also destroying Russian infrastructure permanently. Neither side can defeat the enemy with these strikes, but Ukraine are proving that they're going to be able to keep fighting and preventing Russia from winning.

So how does this war end? Ukraine can't kill all Russian troops and take their land back, but it continues to look impossible for Russia to win either, which means it'll keep going until one side decides they don't want to fight anymore. And it's extremely difficult to imagine that will ever be Ukraine. If they just let Russia take over, life for Ukrainians would be hell. The language would be ended, it would be banned from all schools and public places. Everyone would have to say they're Russian or be jailed/executed. Many people would be executed anyway.

Which means the war will continue until either Russia can't afford to pay their soldiers anymore, or until they don't want to fight a pointless war anymore. And strikes like the recent ones from Ukraine will show Russians that this war is pointless and can't be won, so at some point something in Russia is likely to give. I don't know if that'll be in one year or three years, but I can't see Ukraine ever giving up.

It ends when someone in Russia decides that Putin's War is costing them too much money and " Windows " Vlad. Then there will be a ceasefire and hopefully a withdrawal or the frontline freezes again.

Soon after the war started, I watched an interview with an excellent Ukrainian-American journalist. She said 'we often hear people saying 'Would Putin really do that?'. My answer is 'yes he would'. There was another question at the end. Her answer was 'yes, he absolutely would'.

As time goes on, as Ukraine celebrates victories, and Russia weakens further, I am reminded of that interview.

We'll never know just how far he'll go.

There is nothing too evil or sacred for Putin. He'd murder anyone, destroy anything without the slightest remorse.

I do however believe he is afraid of himself dying or losing grip on power, thus why all opposing voices are silenced.... forever, thus why threats of nukes are simply that, threats.

His personal survival comes above everything.

I'm convinced using a Nuke and killing a million wouldn't bother Putin, the fallout and risk to his own power and life are what stops him.
