Whatever the outcome, I guess this is something that Tony needs to consider for the future, what with his other club interests.
He already did that - there was a potential conflict with USG when we qualified for Europa. TB is too smart not to think about such things. I guess Palace were unprepared as never in their wildest dreams did they think they would qualify for Europe.

Kick Chelsea out of Europe, put Palace in CL, Forest in EL an us in Conference league. Palace would not be able to handle the quality in the CL and falter massively in the league, Forest will attempt to do well and falter in the league while i think we would have a good chance of winning the conference league. This is what is best for football.

I think we can all agree that the only fair outcome of this is that they be stripped of the cup, booted out of Europe and dissolved as a club.
CPFC2025??

If they are going to reset EVERYTIME they do something stupid, they'll be setting up the majority of new businesses in Croydon.

just a thought, why would UEFA summon Palace if they didn't think they were breaking rules? Wouldn't they just have basically ignored it all, or said there is no conflict. The very fact that they have asked Palace to attend means they think they are breaking the rules.
The starting premise is that they haven't met the requirements. The meeting is a chance for them to plead extenuating circumstances, explain why the rules shouldn't apply etc. UEFA will listen and then make a judgement. I understand that their argument will be that, although Textor owns 43%, his voting right is only 25% and that Parish votes for the other owners, therefore Textor doesn't have a controlling interest.

Re Brondby in the Conference. I've noticed comments on 'if they qualify' because they are in the play-off stage, they've 6 games before the league stage.
So should Brondby fall at any stage Palace can still enter.
But does the qualifying round not count as the Conference League?

"UEFA rules are as follows:

“No club participating in a UEFA club competition may, either directly or indirectly, hold or deal in the securities or shares of any other club participating in a UEFA club competition; ........."

Seems pretty clear cut to me

All very exciting - but I still have exactly the same feeling that I had two or thee weeks ago; even if we finish 8th. the cards still won't fall our way.

English clubs enter the Conference League at the play off round, so it wouldn’t really be possible to wait and see what happened with Brondby. Besides it would potentially put any replacement club (ie us) at a disadvantage if they found out last min they had to prepare for a conference League play off game.

This is all true but irrelevant if palace get thrown out due to breaking the rules. Or maybe they shouldn't face consequences, and there is a precedent for that in that they should have been demoted the last of their many times that they've gone into administration?

If they are punished for not following the rules of the competition then it's completely their own fault and natural justice dictates that the next club in line should take their place.
Its only been twice that we were in administration, the second time was a joke due to the small amount of money owed to a hedge fund who panicked. We took the punishment at the time which second time around was a ten point deduction. If only we had a sugar daddy who would build a new ground and donate 400 million of his fortune

But:
The UEFA rules on this are very contradictory, but I think section (c) is key. As Textor only has a 25% stake, he doesn't have a decisive say. In which case, Palace should be fine.

Hearing is today isn’t it? Think they will be allowed in as I understand that whilst he has 45% ownership he only has 25% vote share and Parish has casting vote so would argue he does not have control as per the UEFA definition. My only string of hope is that Textor who has already watered down his control (given his higher ownership %) refuses any further changes that UEFA may impose that limits his influence or ability to sell the rancid turd he has been trying to shift for a few seasons now
That is the spin being put out by Palace however the fact is the 4 shareholders, Blitzer, Harris, Textor and Parish all have 25% voting rights, it's just that Parish has the casting vote. ie if Parish votes with just one other shareholder then they get the decision but if three vote against Parish then he loses. On that basis Textor clearly has influence in boardroom decisons.

When you say 'donate', I think you'll find you actually mean 'loan'. Some of which has been repaid to him over the last few years thanks to good management and a sound business.

I think you’ll struggle to reach the moral high ground in this case.

What’s great about this, even if you are allowed to flout the rules, we all know you’ve flouted the rules (again) and your debut season in European competition will always be tainted by your cheating competition rules.

Win/win for us.

Are you serious? Palace have already got bragging rights over us having won the FA Cup. Would you hand more bragging rights by putting them in the CL before we play in it. I can't stand Chelsea but I despise Palace more.
