I think you’ll struggle to reach the moral high ground in this case.

What’s great about this, even if you are allowed to flout the rules, we all know you’ve flouted the rules (again) and your debut season in European competition will always be tainted by your cheating competition rules.

Win/win for us.
Plus the great big asterisk against the FA Cup win...

So it looks like rules are rules, and we should be kicked out of Europe. UEFA owe us nothing and have already shafted us back in 1991 when we finished 3rd, to qualify for Europe, but then UEFA reduced Liverpools ban and let them in instead. I guess it could / should happen again if UEFA feel that having Brighton in Europe will add to the quality of their competitions, and Palace can be made scapegoats. After all, you finished 4 places higher than us, had horrific injuries, and had a much harder cup draw. It all sounds perfectly fair to me. Brighton will get their reward for finishing higher in the league. I also saw that we should probably have the FA Cup taken off us as we cheated. Clearly that should go to Brighton too, as they have only ever played the game the right way, in a fantastic stadium built with the help of the lifelong supporter and Chairman Mr Bloom.
Bitter? Me? Not a bit... Enjoy the conference league, hope you win it so you can have bragging rights about being the first to win a European trophy, and then eventually take your rightful place in the Champions League, all at the expense of Palace

My sober view on this, having been taking the piss a bit.

I'd genuinely feel a little bit bad for Palace's fans if they lost their place. I'd think it was funny, and funnier still if we qualified as a result, but they did achieve their place fair-and-square after all. As much as I dislike Palace, I don't think their fans deserve that outcome (the owners do, for not taking the opportunity to sort this out ahead of time, but that's not the fans' fault).

If (e.g.) Chelsea or Man City got kicked out of Europe over a financial rule, I wouldn't have any sympathy for their fans at all. But let's face it, nobody supports Palace for the glory. Most of them have been dreaming of this all their lives and at the end of the day, they're just football fans like the rest of us.

But having said all that, I will still point and laugh if it comes to pass (come on, I'm only human).

I’m glad you’ve come round our way of thinking, you’ll probably be a lot happier in your life now.

When you say 'donate', I think you'll find you actually mean 'loan'. Some of which has been repaid to him over the last few years thanks to good management and a sound business.
Ah OK, I stand corrected again. I thought it was not considered a loan. Maybe as @Bozza says I am stupid after all. Didnt you spend over 100 million last year? Was that added to the loan, or was that all profit from the sound business model the club is operated under?

The truth of the matter Textor never thought Palace would qualify for Europe and that is why he didn't pay any attention to the rules. This shambolic situation is just hilarious and I believe the threat is real to them.
Any problems will be down to Beaky, you know the bestest ever football club CEO destinated to be head of FIFA because he is such a visionary.
I fear “hope” is ramping up with Albion fans.

It.won’t.happen
Yeah, but it is funny waiting for it to pan out.

You’re wrong again.

It was over £200 million, but, I must admit, the vast majority of that was Chelsea’s money.

I actually don't want their place, it is there's
It is the board at fault here, for not dotting the i's and crossing the T's

"UEFA rules are as follows:

“No club participating in a UEFA club competition may, either directly or indirectly, hold or deal in the securities or shares of any other club participating in a UEFA club competition; ........."

Seems pretty clear cut to me
Having just read the provisions and regulations, only one thing stood out to me as clear cut. Textor had until 1st March 2025 deadline to sort this out and remove any doubt. That was the deadline. He chose to ignore it. There is no doubting that he has significant influence directly and indirectly. Palace out if EUFA wnats to show it has any cojones at all. I'm over Palace winning the Cup. But they would lose every bragging right over us for decades if they did so and then got thrown out of Europe to be replaced by us due to their lack of administrative skills.

Not sure it was 'fair and square' - If it wasn't for those clowns Attwell and Gillett, Henderson woulda been sent off and Man City would then surely have won the Cup. Not Palace's fault the officials were incompetent fools, but it would be difficult to argue they deserved to win that game.

He has no voting rights at Hearts or USG
So what he has no voting rights?
Most of the deals are made under the table and it would be fairly simple to influence those who are voting to get the result you want.
I’m totally against the multi club system where clubs compete in in the same competition.
Have one club in Europe, one in South America, another in the MLS etc etc, and withdraw your teams from these so called world competitions to avoid your teams meeting.
Too late now but as usual it’s the money that is destroying the game.

Yes - we spent a huge amount
Yes - it was from previous income / profits.

We have made a profit three years in a row.

They were lucky, sure. Infuriatingly lucky. But it's not like they paid off the officials or anything, they were just fortunate that the officials' incompetence worked in their favour.

Plenty of teams have been lucky to come out on top in cup finals, it's just how cup competitions work.

I think this will get sorted. They might have to get around Textor by dropping to the conference with Blitzer reducing his Danish holdings.

I too dont really want them to miss out on Europe but am finding the speculation too much fun not to giggle a little.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me!
