That's all well and good but we don't have a trophy cabinet.
Well this is poor planning. What sort of club wouldn't put something in place for this eventuality.

Why would it be Palace and not Lyon getting das boot if at all?
I notice at least two people have answered this incorrectly.

The issue arises when two (or more) clubs under the same ownership compete in the same competition.

Lyon and Palace have both qualified for the Europa League, but as Lyon's league position is higher, they'd get priority.

Someone has suggested that Palace could drop into the Conference League instead. But the issue there is that Brondby are in that competition, and also finished higher in their league than Palace did in the Premier League.

So Brondby aren't really an issue, except that they rule out the hypothetical possibility of Palace competing in the Conference League instead of the Europa.

If that’s the case then is it clear why this has become an issue at all?
Good point! As I said the rules are very contradictory, but Palace will be using that section as a defence I imagine.

I don't think UEFA will chuck them out. Because the rules are unclear, if it did happen Palace would probably try and sue them.

Maybe promote Palace to Champions League then?

I see this as a win-win in the case of CPFC2010. If they get kicked out, its unfair, sad and absolutely effing hilarious. If they compete they are basically illegitimate cheats and all results are morally null and void.
If we qualified instead people would say we were undeserving, which would irk a bit. Although, frankly who cares? Imagine if we won the Conference League on the back of Palace getting kicked out - how sweet would that be?!

The Charity Shield from 1910 and the Sussex Senior Cups must be somewhere? :)

I wouldn't and I don't get the sentiment at all?

It will be bad enough for them to be kicked out, and 100x worse if we then get admitted instead.

Which makes the prospect all the more delicious.
It would be even better after they've been saying who cares about league position, if we then took their spot because of league position.

I can assure you that if it meant we could return to some of the cities visited in our previous European campaign, then I would not care one bit what other fans (especially Palace) have to say on the matter.

Whatever the outcome, I guess this is something that Tony needs to consider for the future, what with his other club interests.

Can't see them being chucked out to be honest, I am so over it.
let them have their day in the sun.

It simply is not going to happen, but if it did it would be soooo sooo funny.

TB had to sell his majority stake(not all of it) in USG, because of the same problem when we qualified for the EL the same season as USG.

He’s already well aware. He reduced his shares in USG to make sure he was compliant when we were both in the Europa League. His buy in at Hearts is reported as 29% of shares, so below the 30% threshold. He will have no voting rights there either so ensuring he has no significant control.

Let’s face it, there is no way TB would have ever been caught out in the same way.
