This is the nub of most arguments about asylum seekers.

As I mentioned previously you never see the asylum seeker numbers compared with other countries.

Well let's address these 4 points one at a time

Leaving the ECHR without the invention of a British Court of Human Rights being established (or equivalent) would be madness, and as you point out, less rights for all, also the Ireland issue.

Illegal immigrants, as far as I'm aware, have no rights to be here anyways? More than happy to accommodate legal migrants who are needed.

A department for Immigration, doesn't sound like a bad idea to be fair since it's a huge issue politically.

A new department of immigration is a typical Reform policy. It does actually say anything about how the new one will differ to the old one. Nor does it say what is wrong with the old one that cannot be changed by different policy. It's totally meaning less.

So of their point plan: 25% is illegal, 25% totally meaning less, 25% uses the wrong terminology and 25% is as you madness.

This is their flagship policy! Farage has been banging this drum for decades and this is the fruits of his labour.

As a general question to those supporting Reform* on here. Can you explain to me why people think Reform is the answer?

I understand that they have been convinced that immigration is at the root of their problems, so no need to tell me that again. But why do they see this 4 point plan as the solution?

People will vote for Reform because of the cult of personality of Nigel Farage, combined with sky-high immigration. They will (and have) vote Reform because they feel neither Labour nor the Tories, the two main options, have provided a solution that they are happy with so are seeking an alternative. There is one alternative. Reform.

Sarcasm aside, I think you are right with the first bit. They have been persuaded that immigration is at the heart of their woes and the cult of Farage has persuaded them that he is the man to fix everything (despite his previous track record and appalling flagship policy).

A podcaster over here talks about hsi as 'beauty pageant politics'. Very powerful in terms of swing voters but only really serves the politicians as it means they can offer us crap policy like this one and get elected.

This issue for the gullible who vote for them, neither will reform if they get in power. Farage doesn’t believe what he is telling people, he is just running the populist vote. It does not matter what Labour or the Conservatives do, these people have decided that right wing fascism is what they want. Strangely these numpties will go on about how proud they are that their grandparents fought in World War Two, ironically against right wing fascism.

I don’t think there are many people who doesn’t think there is an issue with the level immigration, but most can see there is not a simple solution to fix it.

Edit: a quick squiz at the greens policy suggests that it is far closer to TomandJerrys beliefs than Reforms.

Similarly Farage can now play that tactic due to this seismic UK change. Woefully inadequate new housing numbers for 30 years and little new infrastructure, have created a nation with an unaffordable future for folk 20 to 40 who lack wealthy parents gifting them an average now of £56k per kid.

We have had 15 years of risk-taking (Dave's Brexit fail), self harm (Brexit), charismatic leadership (Johnson),
egregious lying 'leadership' with undisguised contempt for the nation (Johnson), breathtaking incompetence, (Lettuce), and a tiny angry glove puppet, f***ing the country over while his suit got wet.

The choice was dull old Starmer or the frog-faced fascist.
Reluctantly people went for Starmer in a lukewarm landslide.

He has not removed all the foringers and stopped all the boats.
He has not fixed the economic shambles created by the tories.
He has had almost a whole year to fix 15 years of failure, and he has 'failed'. Apparently.
So there is only one option left.

Wayne Titley, a Reform councillor for Stoke, has resigned after just 14 days, which will cause another by-election costing £10K.

If, as we're led to believe, people get more right wing as they get older and he's already in Reform at 19 then he really ought to be put on some sort of watch list frankly
