1,183 people have arrived by boats (those who have been accounted for) since the 7th of May.

It's anyone's guess how many may have died along the way .

The next step is to figure out how this figure compares to similar countries (have a look at how it compares to other countries around the world - you may be astounded).

Then think about the number a signatory of refugee act (UK) should be taking and what mechanisms are in place to take them.

To be honest, I don't know what these are at the moment so would be interesting to know what you find out. What I do know is that this kind of information is never included when discussing the asylum seeker 'problem'.

There’ve definitely been a couple of nsc posters who in the recent past went by the theory that there should be no borders / any control on inwards migration. On the basis that inequalities of wealth between continents is immoral, allow anyone that wants to come to Europe to do so.
Really? I missed that.

Maybe that is who @jcdenton08 was referring to?
