1,183 people have arrived by boats (those who have been accounted for) since the 7th of May.

It's anyone's guess how many may have died along the way .

We need to get this sorted

The next step is to figure out how this figure compares to similar countries (have a look at how it compares to other countries around the world - you may be astounded).

Then think about the number a signatory of refugee act (UK) should be taking and what mechanisms are in place to take them.

To be honest, I don't know what these are at the moment so would be interesting to know what you find out. What I do know is that this kind of information is never included when discussing the asylum seeker 'problem'.

There’ve definitely been a couple of nsc posters who in the recent past went by the theory that there should be no borders / any control on inwards migration. On the basis that inequalities of wealth between continents is immoral, allow anyone that wants to come to Europe to do so.
Really? I missed that.

Maybe that is who @jcdenton08 was referring to?

I don't have all the answers - but it's s situation I think we both can agree can't continue
This SITUATION is one of our own making.

The Brexit vote was the start of it, then the "oven ready" deal that Boris promised, which actually turned out to be more of a dead parrot, bargaining away our rights to return, as we didn't need Johnny Foreigner anymore, as we were taking back control of our borders, reclaiming our sovereignty, making our own laws, blah, blah, blah...

And no, it can't continue - I believe over time the numbers WILL come down, with the actions the grown up government are taking, but like the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day!

All the while, Nigel will stand at the White Cliffs of Dover, pointing at boats, like some modern day King Canute.

We shall see what happens to the numbers over time, we have to hope Labour can get it under control.

BJ has a lot to answer for whilst Farage can just say that it hasn't his Brexit deal and it wouldn't of happened if he was PM
