Yup, I understand all that and I know I am in a minority, but I dislike seeing the ‘big clubs’ win everything and as I said my son works for the Palace Foundation.
Bad fan here, but I am probably not as bothered about Europe as I should be. Next season though could well be a real cracker for us in the Prem.

I wouldn’t say you are a ‘bad fan’ - maybe a bit conflicted because of family loyalties

I personally don’t make those kind of value judgements on how someone supports the team but if Brighton is anyone’s first team choice, I don’t understand how one could not be ‘bothered’ about Europe.

This season we probably stood a greater chance to qualify with some of the biggest Clubs having a very mediocre season in the EPL combined with English Clubs doing so well in Europe.

Next season is definitely not a given by a long shot as we could lose a bunch of key players in the summer, including Baleba, Pedro, Mitoma, Bart even Rutter - and there’s no knowing what Clubs outside the Big 6/7 will hit paydirt with new owners/managers next season. When it comes to Europe, imo we have to climb through every open window and grab any opportunity to qualify.

I've watched almost every cup final since 1978. I missed Cov in 87 thanks to my cousin's wedding and a couple when I was abroad. But I have also never watched a final Palace were in. In fact, in 1990, a group of us boycotted the TV and went on a pub crawl round the Isle of White instead, playing our own version on the beach at 3pm.

I cannot bring myself to watch on Saturday either, so I am a No, at least at the moment.

From a personal perspective, I prefer Isle of Wight.
