I've watched almost every cup final since 1978. I missed Cov in 87 thanks to my cousin's wedding and a couple when I was abroad. But I have also never watched a final Palace were in. In fact, in 1990, a group of us boycotted the TV and went on a pub crawl round the Isle of White instead, playing our own version on the beach at 3pm.

I cannot bring myself to watch on Saturday either, so I am a No, at least at the moment.

Contrast here. The only cup final I’ve ever watched was the 1983 one.
Personally, I’d like to see Palace win, I don’t go along with all the Palace hate and my son ( a Brighton fan) works for their Palace for Life Foundation.

Yes I 'll watch it hope Palace win and beat the arrogant , fraudulent Man City bastards . They have a great team , a very similar club to Brighton in size and ambition. Just because I am a Brighton fan it doesnt mean I have to hate Palace ! I hate Man U and Chelsea for they way they run their clubs btw ! Come on Palace !

I’m torn.

My sense of well being (and any precious breakables in my vicinity) would dictate to avoid it like the plague - Palace beating Citeh for silver would be too much to bear let alone that they could do us out of Europe too because qualifiers would only go to 7th place if they win.

BUT I want EUROPE so should every Brighton fan - it‘s NOT about hating Palace for this final !!


So that said, because there is so much at stake for us, it has a kind of macabre appeal that I may find difficult to resist - in which case, I will just walk in a Citeh fan’s shoes for the day and be fully engaged watching and willing Palace to be absolutely frickin annihilated.
