I can even remember some of the reasons why. Fiorentina reckoned corruption gave Juve a narrow title win, was it in the 80’s? Probably true in hindsight!? The Baggio transfer added fuel to that. Napoli …. a Mezzogiorno loathing of the wealthy north, exemplified by Juve.
I was in Naples recently. The pure hatred of Juventus was everywhere even though they were celebrating winning Série A themselves - graffiti, posters, permanent banners and signs, chants…………..

Well, it's true though, innit?

The ideal would be a choice of crowd noise without commentary, turning the sound off is a little worse than listening to Steve McManaman
It would be good to be able to have choices like that.
Like my angle choice that hardly anyone else seems to agree with.

Pathetic from the City fans, one chant of Blue Moon in the first half and that was about it. Wait until we show Europe what we're made of 'Allbiiiooooonnn, Allbiiiooooonnn'
:lolol:
That's just down to the different structure of organized fans chanting in the UK vs continental Europe (e.g. Italy.) You have possibly a better, more stable middle level given by the totality of normal fans chanting organically, but won't reach the potential granted by better organization and ultras groups (which of course bring also some problematics.) Each side has pros and cons, it's just natural that an organized "curva" will normally keep up chanting for 90 minutes better than how spontaneous fans can. But if you take away the ultras' guidance, Italian fans would be a mess compared to English ones.

As said on Football Weekly:-

'City have always wanted everyone else to love them, and cannot for the life of them work out why we don't.
At least Newcastle have the good grace to not care'.
Even if they didn't have the owners they have and had Americans instead, it's simply the nature of being at the top that brings you haters. They might need some time before realising it because their ascent has been quite quick and they weren't always as successful, but they can't expect people to thank them for winning over them. Either you win a lot or you're liked by other fans, you can't have both. You can also lose and be universally disliked, but that's another matter :lolol:

I hope you haven't missed the televised Fiorentina fan holding the banner "JUVE MERDA" before their own Conference League final against West Ham, their first European final in 30 years :lolol:. It's hard to let go of an obsession, even during such important moments. We like our villain suit well enough though, as long as it doesn't interfere with serious matters.

With the best of intentions I don't think you fully understand.

Man City the club, the media fans and the rank and file have always wanted to be accepted and liked.

They are early adopters of sportswashing and that win over the hearts and minds mentality still exists, the nicer side of sportswashing 😆

They certainly didn't get the vitriol thrown at Newcastle - who just don't care.
So may well think us just week in week out ignoring them is a sign of it working, making them all the more surprised when true feelings are voiced.

I believe their need is twofold:-

'you need to love us because we were once shite like you, and one day you too could have all of this'.
&
'you need to love us because we're not Utd, who you really hate'.

What the club fed media cheerleaders, and certainly last night's commentary team, don't understand is the simple fact that 'we' don't want to be them, we couldn't think of anything worse.

Plus, where football is concerned 'we' have an infinite amount of room for hate.

I had to watch it on the firestick and it was a terrible picture. I gave up at half time and I wasn’t sorry. It was dull.,

Terrific achievement for Scott Carson. 2x CL winner and treble winning keeper.
I appreciate this is tongue in cheek BUT press outlets are referring to this as well. Do people really consider players who didn’t play in the final as winners?

I don't really understand, I assume you were watching the game on The YouTube through a Firestick, like me.
The game (and sadly sound) were absolutely perfect.
What are your other experiences of The YouTube like?

Yes, I agree. I was talking about the match, not about the whole season or the team in general.

As for me, yes I explained it a bit when I first posted on here but I sometimes keep tabs about Italians in the PL, and De Zerbi was getting a lot of good press here in Italy about his Brighton adventure; so I decided to take a closer look and watch some matches and here I am. I'm not a Brighton supporter like you guys but you're definitely the team I most want to do well in the PL. I'm not the only one either, lost of Italians are following De Zerbi's progress and there's always one or two Italian comments under Albion videos.

Lazio have a lot of alright fans who are embarrassed/angry about their fascist ultras group
It is a frustration for me. Lazio were the first Italian team I followed, mainly because they were very average and I bought a shirt of there's when younger. This was over 30 years ago when Italian football was being shown over here for the first time. It's an awkward relationship because they are my only Italian team. I've tried to 'change' them for another but it's hard to do that in football. They will always be my team. I remember telling someone I knew who followed Italian football and they were forthright in telling me how disappointed they were that I would support such a team. It's the thing that stops me from pressing the 'buy' button for their shirt each season. I was hoping they might have a supporters club 'bel club di tifosi laziali' or something like that.

My Italian team is Bologna.

The thing that stops me buying their shirt is that it is blue and red stripes…
