We will never be told the fee. If he goes, a fee will be agreed, kept secret, and then all these Twitter gimps like O'Rourke will say "believed to be in the region of <insert random number>." I guess we might be told it's a club record deal if that is the case, but still the number itself will not be disclosed.

Actually, there is a chance we might eventually find out some years later in a Seagulls Down Under meeting or something similar.

All IMO anyway.

We’ll have a good idea sometime next year when some DULLARD unravels the accounts for us :D

That would be quite enlightening though. We’d know it was in excess of £50m. As it should be.

If they want him that badly then why didn't they sign him last year before coming to us? We took the chance and within 12 months they want to pinch our prize asset.

We should do what dirty Leeds are doing with Raphinha and stick a minimum price of £65m on him and see what Citeh do.

It's great that our scouting system can attract and find players like Cucu, but it bugs the hell out of me that effectively we do the spade work and take a chance on such players, then clubs like Citeh come in expecting us to just roll over. £50m is chump change for them that they'd find down the back of the sofa, and as seen in the past, they don't give s Sh*t about FFP. Milk them for every penny I say.

TB - please stand your ground on this one. Either say he's not for sale this season or stick a huge price on his head.

At the end of my tether
Read this on the BBC
“Manchester City are in in advanced talks to seal the signing of Brighton and Spain defender Marc Cucurella, 23. (Football Insider)

Frankly I am gutted! The close season used to be a time of anticipation and enthusiasm as to whom we may sign. Now it’s a time of sadness, watching the best players that we have being cherry picked by the fat cats……especially those cheating (expletives) from Man C.
I could write a long rant, but who wants that …..

That goes completely against what was printed in the Argus from Brian Owen yesterday. I am pretty sure the club have to approve what the Argus print and there is no way this can be interpreted as advanced stages imo. Not saying he won't go but...

Manchester City will be told Albion have no plans to sell Marc Cucurella if they make their anticipated move for the left-back.

Not sure the club do “approve” what Brian writes. But perhaps he has better and more informed sources about Albion transfers than Footy Insider 24/7 etc

It was definitely happening two weeks ago. There’s another surge of stories again now. All based on 1 maybe 2 Twitter accounts. Man City transfer news generates plenty of likes/retweet’s. It’s all bollocks IMO.

There's such a pattern to these tweets. Some unknown journalist puts out a tweet and then 50 others copy and paste it to send out again from their account, literally word for word the same. If there was truth to it and a bit of news had been leaked to a select few journalists then you'd expect each of them to report a similar story but in their own words. These tweets are all exactly the same. Feels like twitter bullshit. The same accounts were saying its a done deal weeks ago.

Probably just trying to unsettle the player before putting in a bid, the dark arts of social media.

I think Citeh will have around 4 players on their left-back hit list. They might not want a fight with TB. It’s worth noting how easily Liverpool extracted Jota from Wolves in this instance.

Yep….followed by

‘Hi Paul, Man City here. We’re interested in Cucurella and his agent has indicated we can easily agree personal terms (well, we’re tripling his wages after all). We’d like to put in a bid of 30m’

*line goes dead*

‘Paul ? Paul ? Are you still there ?’

Rings back

"Paul, I think we got cut off"

"Sorry Mr Gotbucks, but I got rushed to A&E"

"Oh why?"

"Because I split my side laughing so hard."

Silence.....

Seen a rumour says they're also looking at David Raum from Hoffenheim. Don't know how much truth there is in that.

And that's assuming we have the temerity to not allow ourselves to be lowballed by a petrostate, of course.
