If we want to attract quality young players we can’t stand in their way if champs league clubs want them.
That said it’s a poor deal, given he’s the best midfielder of his type in the league.
A bidding war would have been nice.
Maybe the player forced our hand?

I think Spurs might become a very different beast if Conte is given the time and the backing to develop them. I can see them winning a domestic cup at the very least next season.

Abu Dhabi, Guardiola, De Bruyne and Haaland will prevent Spuds winning the big prizes until long after Conte’s moved again.

What do people expect, one year left on contract and seemingly unwilling to sign a new contract of course we are going to sell rather than let him go on a free next May.
He has gone to a CL club, and as others have already stated this gives a good indication to promising youngsters and/or overseas players that the club will not stand in their way to a move to a bigger club, providing the finances are right for Bloom.

This is the current club model, so we need to accept this will occur on a regular basis. The time to worry is when no clubs are looking to buy our players.

And we all know that Bissouma will get his one goal for the season against us.

I'm really happy for him. From rags to riches and playing in the CL which was his dream.

Good luck Biss, just not against us. And never forget who gave you the chance in the big league.

Man, you're in for a rough ride... every club except PSG and Manchester City (and previously Barca/Real) sometimes sell their best players, because such is the food chain. It is highly unlikely that Brighton will ever be ambitious by your standards.

It makes a pleasant change for us to have players that clubs in the Champions League want.

Mind you, you never know what will turn out to be a good deal. A Stains fan of my acquaintance didn't bat an eye when they sold Van Dijk and Lallana, but went mental when Arsenal bought Callum Chambers. For him this was a sale too far, a folly that he likened to selling the family silver. Callum who? Exactly.

All of this to be honest. I'd have been disappointed if he left last summer (even though we could probably have got £50m for him with 2 years left) but he gave us another season, I suspect on the promise that we wouldn't stand in his way this summer.

I know the transfer market is mad these days but £30m will buy us 3 young quality prospects, we rinse and repeat. The supply chain of talent is starting to work with midfielders such as Moises ready to take the crown.

My noodle still struggles to comprehend the amounts of money we now sell players for,I still remember being shocked at what we sold Larwenson for,and what we paid for Muzza,I doubt I'll ever get used to it but £30 million with just 1 season left on his contract is very good business.

Can't be happy with this. Anybody convincing themselves that the way forward for BHAFC is to sell our best players as soon as possible to turn a profit....head, wobble.

Meanwhile we give Gross an extended contract.

No ****ing ambition.

He was here for 4 years mate. If you honestly think we can keep hold of players when a Champions League club comes calling and call that "lack of ambition" on BHA's part, then YOU need to give your head a wobble. It was £35m now, or nothing next year. What do you THINK the club was supposed to do ?

This is the reality. BHA are not, and never will be top 4 club.

It was always going to happen with the contract having been run down. We've got something for him, he's given us good service and i don't really care what he does for Spurs. The distraction of this is now gone and hopefully we can move forward with Caicedo as the new midfield star.

The innevitable has happened, he's been a very good player the last few seasons, most of the time, but we learn from this and move on.

He never struck me as a Brighton player personally, just a careerist, which is perfectly understandable.

I couldn't give two shits what happens to him wearing a spuds shirt.

Stating the blooming obvious Maybe
But I think this is either going to be a massive success or a Spursey disaster
Sadly for Biss I see the possibility of it not working out
and him disappointed and disappearing ala Ex England man Harry Winks
Just can’t see it being a mediocre transfer

Bissouma had one year left on his contract and we got decent money for him. Don't know what else to say. I can see you're upset, but....no ambition? Crikey!
