Nobody, we already have Paynter as the target man option even though he looks pretty poor tbh, and Sparrow is our 'box to box' midfielder

Oh dear. On current form that sounds like nobody here and No-one coming..........................

Any realistic targets? Think we need a target man and box to box midfielder, thoughts?:amex::albion2:

the last thing we need is a target man. we signed barn door billy and it's made things worse not better (having said that, he is atrocious so i'm not sure him being a target man or not has really affected our form). we end up neither humping it long OR passing the ball properly when we play a target man.

I think Gus needs to remember what he preached last season, that loan players are generally bad news. He also needs to accept that a few of the squad are just not good enough and get rid of them if possible.

Harper has added nothing, plus he doesn't pass the ball as well as Ankergren. Sparrow and Navarro are league 1 at best. Barn Door Billy is rubbish, Barnes is a better player. Not sure Marcos Painter is good enough either. Jury is still out on Harley.

I'd like to see Yasir Kasim brought in to the squad, he's talented and has played for the first team and looked good.

After his recent red card for trying to punch a ref, he's probably going to have to wait a little longer.

Based on this tweet from Naylor it looks like the no-ones have it!

And almost certainly no Vicente either........................?

"Gus says Vicente available for Coventry but lacking match fitness. Loan signing looking unlikely before 5pm. Story on line shortly"

We need to get the existing players properly fit so we can see where the real weaknesses are, then come Januray, we can spend money or loan shop window players to ensure we finish above the half way line.

I tend to agree that the likes of Buckley/Hoskins/Vicente and Reyes should be a priority once they are fit rather than bring in even more loanees. The only exception might be in defence or a keeper.

Kasim looked ok in the last game of last season at Notts Co. but faded 2nd half - but then no one really shone as we were playing in 'end of term mode' having sown up Lge 1.

Would also give JFC a chance - he couldn't do worse than some of the 1st team have of late and ought to be highly motivated.

we won't be signing this man: BBC Sport - Gary Gardner joins Coventry on loan from Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has moved to Championship side Coventry City on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance but scored a hat-trick for Villa's Under-19s against Ajax in the NextGen European competition.

Gardner came off the bench to score twice in England Under-21s 5-0 victory over Iceland on 11 November.

The midfielder will stay with Coventry until 3 January and should make his debut against Brighton on Saturday.

Yeah, because he really let us down in the last transfer window didn't he!?

He's said he's looked at getting a Prem quality player but it's now unlikely to happen. Where's the BS in that?
