And they'll then be knocking at our door for Knockart.
Hence the post, although Norwich are welcome to Knockart just so long as they leave Knockaert where he is.

Indeed - a one season wonder who has thrived under the way Leicester have played - which is completely different to the way Arsenal play. Unless Wenger is prepared to throw his footballing philosophy in the bin this move, if it happens, could well turn out to be a complete farce.

I was thinking about that myself. Vardy has thrived on fast breakaways, running off the shoulder of the last defender, whilst Arsenal tend to play possession, slow build-up football. Wenger is far from stupid so he must have a plan in mind. Maybe he's going to speed up the tempo at Arsenal, get them playing faster through the middle? That's if he gets Vardy, of course. He has Ramsey and Wilshire, both of whom can pic a forward pass and run to support. I'm sure Ozil is also more than capable of playing at pace. After all, Germany play fairly high tempo.
I would like to see this deal happen so that I can see how Wenger fits him in.

Absolutely spot on. And also this is why Vardy won't make any impact for England next week. He is a very specific tool for a very specific job. It is extraordinary how thick and arrogant some football coaches are, thinking they can mould any player according to their Football Genius will. Remember Zamora at Spurs: Let's beef him up in the gym and make him play a completely different way

Would you put Wenger in the thick and arrogant bucket though? Remember when he first went to Arsenal and got more out of Adams, Parlour et al? I would like to see what he does with Vardy.

Just because arsenal play more of a patient possession based game I don't think that means the transfer wouldn't work.
Vardy threatening the back line would stretch the pitch giving the midfield homunculi more space to operate, and almost all of them are capable of an in incisive through ball. Opposition full backs would be more reticent to go forwards and test an occasionally creaky defence. Faced with Vardy in their shoulder and a midfield full of passers having plenty of possession centre backs are going to need to maintain an exceptional level of concentration with little respite.
Of course none of this means it couldn't backfire stupendously.

Vardy's wife taking a lot of abuse on Twitter from angry Leicester fans :nono:
Because every one of them would turn down all that goes with a £20m contract to stay at Leicester.

Wenger is managing another pace and impact player, Theo Walcott. He is now completely out of England reconing. Washed up, in fact. He is two years younger than Vardy......

Vardy is 29. This is his last chance at a big contract and his job at Leicester is done.

What surprises me is Arsenal are buying a 29 year old forward; their transfer policy under Wenger was get rid before they hit 30.

Not for a long time.
The days of eeking out 'one more year' from Denis Berkamp was a decade ago.

You can't accuse Arsenal of being ageist with their defence, midfield and Giroud.
If anything the squad is too old.

20m sounds like a bargain to me. I've read somewhere the release clause is activated if a champions league team comes in for him. Arsenal may be the only destination he has if city and spurs don't want him and i've no idea why but i cant see him going abroad. If he decides to leave Leicester then good luck to him. He spent the majority of his career in lower league football, this will be his one and only chance to secure his and his families future. He'll no doubt treble his leicester wages.

Considering Andy Carroll was £50m, as I seem to remember, this £20m is daylight robbery.

I'm sure this is the first time I have seen the word "homunculi" on NSC. Well played jackanada.
