Rotherham fielded an ineligible player against Albion

I agree but also see a differrnt side. If the probable happens, there are 3 points just randomly missing from the league. I'm not just saying it because it's us but I'm this circumstance I really do feel the losing team should get the points as that player changed the outcome of the game in theory - potentially changed the result...

I could understand a replay.

It happened 4 years ago when we played Hartlepool. Hartlepool won, but then lost the three points. We didn't get anything.

If we lose to Huddersfield and Wigan beat Millwall (both very reasonable claims), and then Wigan beat us at their place (they will let's face it!)... they will be 3 points behind us with two games to play. Squeaky bum time.
This is why I think they will delay any decision about a replay until the above is not possible.

I'm well aware of that hence I said the probable outcome is this again...

Point is, there's 3 points missing from the whole league now - out of X thousand...

Let's hope the same common sense is applied this time round then. The rules do allow for a replay to be ordered, but no, please, not another match this season!

Here's an article which mentions the 3 point deduction and £3.5K fine.
http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/sund...re-rattling-rant-comes-back-to-haunt-him.html

Poyet’s Brighton were beaten 2-0 by Hartlepool in League One in April of 2010 only for it later to emerge that Pools had included Gary Liddle in their starting XI – a player who was supposed to serving a two-match suspension at the time after receiving his tenth booking of the season two days prior against Leyton Orient.

However, Liddle’s ban wasn’t processed over the intervening Bank Holiday weekend and the midfielder started the game against Brighton believing himself to be perfectly eligible having not heard otherwise from the relevant authorities.

The Football League then realised the mistake the following day and deducted the three points from Hartlepool’s total as well as fining the club £3,500, though it wasn’t enough to satisfy Poyet, who made a merry little to-do of the whole thing in an interview published on Brighton’s official site – demanding that the Football League award the three points to his side instead as anything else would be fundamentally “unfair”.

After brief deliberation, the Football League then announced that Brighton would not be awarded the points on the basis that they actually lost the game – only for Poyet to describe the decision as “totally wrong”, claiming that it left the integrity of English football “open to ridicule”.

Why should we have to fork out for transport (they flew up there), hotel and other expenses again?

We are 100/1 to go down. If you're that unsure I'd put some money on it

Oddly enough, I do think it's right that we don't get given the three points if they do take them away. We failed to win the game in the first place and the idea would be to punish Rotherham, not that we somehow get a reward for it...that said, if we were to be given them then that would be fine!
I do agree, but we were "technically" cheated against. If we had lost 2-1 and this player had scored there 2 goals, you would feel a little more aggrieved. As it is, we were just inept, so it is less easy to argue for the 3pts.

Do you really think the powers that be in football give a flying fart about any inconvenience and extra expenses for the fans? Hopefully they'll just decide it's too complicated / isn't enough time to arrange a replay, deduct the points and move on.

I suspect Rotherham will have 3 points deducted unless Derby admit it was an admin error at their end which led to Rotherham believing the 28 day loan had been extended. There will be no decision made until we're mathematically safe from relegation.

We should definitely get the three points. As indeed we should have been out through in the cup when west ham did something similar to us I seem to recall.
