Middlesex have 162 points plus the 3 they have from the first innings = 165. If Lancs win they have 143 + 22 = 165 then what happens?

What should Sussex do now? IMHO they should throw the bat for 1 hour in the morning and see what happens then if not all out declare and have a go at bowling out Northants.
Play for the draw, guarantees 3rd place.

Have they not scored enough to nearly guarantee a draw. Being 283 in front 50 of 60 more will make it certain and put Northants on the defensive because there is no way they will chase 350, if they did they would probably lose wickets quickly.
