Had been reading for a while but only bothered to sign up this year, only found it about a year ago - signing up later than anyone else doesnt make you any less of a fan tbh.

A fair few of our new members this season have been people looking to either buy or sell spare tickets.

I know this because if their accounts are verified quickly, I tend to get an email begging for them to be activated. I'm often tempted to ignore those for a while (but don't) as it doesn't feel quite right that they have no real interest in contributing to the community, but just want to strike a deal.

The answer is I think like me, when 606 closed I looked around and found this site.

Just watch it explode if we go up! I fear the board my become a little younger in its demographic should the impossible happen...

...enjoy it while you can!!!

Chill son... don;t take it personally... no one is having a go... just noticed a lot of new 2011 and 2012 members and i was wondering why the sudden influx... and a few people have answered it maturally... Checking up on the progress of the amex, chatting to people about the site etc etc...

It's all i am Acker no need to be a keyboard warrior

I signes up 3 and a half years ago, I know it wasn't applying to me. Just like you questioning if people are superficial, my post wasn't intended as a dig.

I joined because NSC came up in google while looking for tickets for a Home game now that my son is old enough to be going to regular matches and the points system on seagulls makes it very difficult for a youngster (generally you need points to attend afternoon matches but not evening games, but as he's only young, he can't go to mid-week evening kick offs!).

Planning permission being granted should mean we get season tickets and won't need to buy on a per game basis!

Yea read back my post and i didn't like the superficial comment... my fault

however i was just curious to see if there was a correlation between albions great season and new ground to the number of new members...

Friends?

Haven't seen him for a while Rev, he split up with Sandra and moved back to the Heath. He was due to go to Millwall as a guest of one of our mutual friends in 1901 but didn't show up.

Think I first posted on some form of NSC back in 1999 when I was in Hull one weekend watching Hull v Swansea in the basement division! Well I was seeing a girlie I knew but made sense to go catch a game. Came back to her place searched out BHA stuff and certain I found some version of NSC. Then forgot all about it til around 2009 and didn't bother to register til 2010. The rest as they say, is history. Oh and Hull won 2-0 at Boothferry Park.

I'm not goin to lie and say I have been a lifelong Brighton fan. My first match was against Northampton away and must be about 4 years ago. (Someone must know the details?) Went to the Withdean a few times and signed on here after Christmas when the season was heating up. Like most people, I had been reading stuff on here for some while before hand.

This. I'm still the only one of my mates (who all read nsc) who's actually registered & posts. They think I'm a bit sad :)
Pretty much the same for me. I only know 1 other poster, got lots of Albion mates who peruse NSC and have an opinion but don't register
Strangely a guy in my family is HUGE Albion fan and used to frequent NSC (Russell Slade's Cap) but doesn't bother with it any more . Strange.

Join him up to Gully's Gang, it is free and he will get 50 loyalty points!

Add me to the list of ex-lurkers. I've now spent more of my life living away from Brighton than I spent living there, and keeping an eye out for the team feels kinda like maintaining a link with a place I still consider home some 15 years after leaving it. That inevitably led to here, where I'm fairly sure I registered either to argue with someone or to make a (probably poor) joke.

Combination of more time on my hands, boredom the re-surgence of the club and something that does not require any real physical effort although my fingers seem a bit stronger since I started posting.

I think most people read this place before they eventually join.

I visited NSC on an off for 12-18 months before I finally signed up.

I was the same & I wouldnt be surprised if a good percentage of NSC'ers did the same.

Oh that & the introduction of smart phones & tapatalk too.
