It would be yet more money wasted if we get this keeper in...You'd think we was left with just one teen keeper and desperate, unreal.

It will be temporary cover only. We need three keepers as injury or illness can happen at any time, which is why Brezovan played at Huddersfield two years ago. Kuszczak had a poisoned finger, Ankergren was ill, so we had to use our third choice keeper. It will be cheap and nothing like trying to find a striker.
You can get a last minute emergency if the worse happens which lets be honest is very unlikely to happen.

This is the correct answer. How people have so much difficulty trying to understand this baffles me.

Oh sorry if some of us get carried away with the FFP and saving money. I understand we made the safety officer redundant last week, is that so we can spend his wages TOWARDS the wages of another keeper to get splinters in his a*se?

I gave you an example where it did happen. It is rare and can happen. It will be a one month emergency loan, hardly breaking the bank.

Because strikers aren't cheap and they don't want to spend money getting one in.

We know they've been looking but perhaps, they haven't managed to find a player who given the following is right...
- apart from fact we already have 5 fit first team strikers
- you have to find a striker who is appropriate to play for only 6-7 games max, needs the game time, is of sufficient standard, club happy for him to come, can guarantee him game time, and you can GUARANTEE will perform better than Colunga etc , and yes presumably wages will be a factor.
- Also obviously assuming all of the above fall into place and you're absolutely sure they will add something to our existing squad and that they will be scoring goals / playing well then it begs the question how come they are available in the first place?

Our recruitment process is an absolute stinking shambles. No wonder Gus decided he wanted out.

It is possible that Ankergren might be carrying a slight injury as well and that's why Walton got thrown in at the deep end against Spurs? just a thought.

Complete waste of money as Walton and Casper can cover til He's back...You do have to question what goes on with the recruiting here at times. If one of these gets injured at some point then just get an emergency loan at the last minute, but no need to get another keeper in when we have two.

Come off it. Squads need 3 first team keepers given they run the risk of injury or suspension at any moment. This is a sensible move by the club. And the keeper they've lined up looks a more than decent cover.

But we have three 'keepers - you're now advocating that we need four. One is injured leaving us with, as far as we are aware, two fully fit 'keepers including one bright young prospect who performed well at Spurs on Tuesday night.

I can understand that given our perilous position Hyypia wouldn't want to take chances, but if we really do not rate Ankergren as a capable stand-in we shouldn't have re-signed him.

Yes, but as I pointed out, one of those two fully fit keepers may have an illness or injury at any time. It happened two years ago, and we went into a game without a keeper on the bench.

Al Habsi is a very good keeper, could even be better than Stockdale. However, we already have 2, surely the money will be better spent on a striker?

Let's see if any loan 'keeper plays or not then. If he comes in as a starter, it doesn't say much about our existing back-up options...

What striker (who can actually score goals) is going to come in for a temporary, one or two month, loan? This is classed as a temporary loan.
