On Talksport this morning. Irani put to him CMS and had Hammers made a bid?

Allardyce replied yes and then almost started laughing, saying he'd chosen Brighton, and no disrespect to us, but it must be a money move, because it wouldnt be a football move.

Erm. Even though we're splashing some cash. There is no way we could offer more money than Hammers, especially as they went all out to get Nolan in. I'm amazed we did get CMS, but think its more down to Poyet, Bloom and the stadium, rather than cash.

He is talking out his arse, Adrian Durham and Barry Fry confirmed yesterday he didn't make his decision for money, he saw the potential and ambitions of the club and Gus. Screw the hoof specialist, he's an idiot

Couldn't possibly be because he found Sam Allardyce to be a boorish, pompous twunt, with a reputation for ugly, negative hoofball, could it?

.

We'll know in May next year if he was right or whether he's the arrogant twat I believe him to be. If he starts like he did at Newcastle he may not even have a job by then of course.

Brazil's reason was that maybe he thought he would get more of a game at Brighton. Yes Alan. Cos Hammers would pay 2.5mill and then put him on the bench. Just face it. Albion are an attractive club to play for these days!

He's just trying to save face. Rather feeble response because he must know that for all their 'glorious' history they have big money problems and if they don't get their move to the Olympic Stadium and the £40 million 'loan' from Newham Council they'll be even worse off.

Anyway, come the 22nd of October we'll see won't we ? There's not much more he can do to motivate CMS than imply that he's signed for a 'small' club.

Can't be doing with getting all cross about it to be honest. We're a much smaller club than West Ham, and until this season we have looked like a truly tin pot outfit for nearly 20 years. If Sam Allardyce thinks it's a money move, he's in agreement with about 90% of the footballing world.

It's going to take 20 years to build the club's reputation back to where we want it to be, but in all honesty it doesn't really matter does it?

Or it could have been because he didn't fancy playing football at a shitty athletics stadium with a running track around the pitch.

Same reason he didn't sign for us when we made the approach in January.

Well he *has* signed for a club with about a third of West Ham's support, there can't be much doubt about that.

Some managers must go on a special course on how to make ridiculous public statements, only for them to come back and bite you on the bum later in the season, ala a certain Mr Adkins.
It's sure to be one that Charlie pins up on the dressing room wall for a bit of motivation.

Err, I think that's exactly the reason he's signed for us. I suspect Poyet guaranteed him first team football, in fact probably (given that he's been quoted saying this) said that he'll build the team round him. At West Ham he may have not been guaranteed a first team spot and would have to fit around what they already have.

Having said that, Allardyce's excuse was laughable. I would have thought it's a given that we wouldn't be offering more than West Ham; in fact I would suspect from a money perspective that Leicester would have been the best move - much cheaper living costs there.

When it came to it, West Ham couldn't come up with the money. Albion and Leicester could.

You would have thought that Sam knew CMS was only going to sign for an ambitious club.

People really shouldn't get so tetchy over a hoofball dinosaur like Allarshite mocking us. The fact is to the rest of the football league who don't follow us and don't know the history of the club, we're just a tinpot third tier outfit in a shit athletics stadium who struck lucky with a sugar daddy takeover. All 91 other clubs have seen a dozen or more clubs get taken over, spend beyond their means and piss it all down the toilet to just go bust again. They think we're just another Billy Cash-Bollocks thinking we're better than we are. But give it time and morons like Big Sam will realise we're not pretending, we're for real, and when he's out of a job by Christmas and CMS is banging them in for us maybe, just maybe, it'll click in his mind that we're a club with shrewd owners and big ambitions, not joke lower-league journeyman with a rich Kuwaiti financing some fun before he pulls the plug.

The Peterborough chairman made a public statement saying that West Ham made an offer which was way higher than Leicester's (and by implication, Brighton's), then backed down because they realised that they didn't have the cash.

By saying what he said, Sam Allardyce has made a public admission that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

If I was a West Ham fan, I'd be exceptionally concerned right now. But I'm not, so I don't give a shit for his backward opinion.
